He liked quiet, though. Wished he could havehereand Todd at the same time. “You’re not getting too much flack at work?”

Todd leaned back against the black leather couch, which Fazil could almost smell. “Nah. Stephen is babysitting my ass, but Nathan’s been out of the office. No sign of Ryan whatsoever.”

“Well, that’s good, except for the being-babysat part.” He chewed on his cheek.

“I have no regrets.” He leaned forward. “None, Z. About anything.”

Including their past. He still had issues with that, but those were his. “Good. I’m glad you were there and we met again. Glad we’re together now.” They were together, right?

Guess they were, because Todd had the biggest damn grin. “I didn’t know if you wanted to keep this”—he gestured between the two of them—“going.”

“Oh hell yeah. We’ll figure the distance out at some point.”

“Well, you do like Seattle.”

He did, despite the shit that went down. But he liked Pittsburgh, too, and didn’t want to leave the job with Sam. “Yeah. It’s a fine town.” There was another option open to them. “So’s this one. You should come visit. See if you like it.”

Todd’s brows furrowed for a moment. “You know I want to see you, but with this whole probation thing and whatever happens with Singularity, coming out there’s not going to happen any time soon.”

Yeah, they’d talked about it before. He hoped it really was Singularity and not Todd fixated on aplan. “Well, someday.” Then a yawn caught him. “Oh fuck. It’s not the company, I swear!”

Todd laughed. “Jeez, Z. Go get some sleep.” He glanced down, probably at the computer clock. “It’s nearly midnight there.”

It was. “Yeah, but...” If he could only reach through the Internet and touch Todd. “I like this.”

“So do I. Like it more if you were here, but I’ll take what I can get.” A broad smile. “I don’t want you falling asleep at your laptop, though. The top of your head isn’t interesting.”

“Depends on the head.” He grinned at the screen.

Todd rolled his eyes. “You taking lessons from Eli?”

Fazil laughed. “No. Maybe his banter is wearing off on me.”

“Nice.” Todd leaned back. “But you should sleep.”

“Yeah.” He needed to. “Talk tomorrow?”

“Of course.” Todd leaned forward. “You know what I want you to do between now and then?”

Little shocks ran up Fazil’s back and he scooted closer to the laptop. “What?”

“Think of how you can make our next callinterestingfor the both of us.” Oh, that grin. “Use your head.”

Oh.Oh. Fazil squirmed. “I’m sure I can come up with something. So to speak.”

Todd laughed. “Good night, Z.”

“Night, Todd.”

They both hung up and Fazil let out a breath. He was tired. But now he was hard.Damn it, Todd.Undoubtedly, that was exactly how Todd wanted him.

Well, jacking off was a good way to get some sleep. He shut the laptop and headed for his bed.
