Her eyes continued to detour south, just as her hand did. Her heart worked overtime pumping blood through her body to her brain when she noticed his rock-hard erection straining against his jeans.
“He can’t possibly be that big,”she said to her wolf.
“He can and he is. Would you like to see?” Jason’s eyes flew to hers, his hands moved to unbutton his jeans.
“What? No! Stop reading my thoughts.”
“I can’t help it. They keep popping into my head.”
How was that even possible? The pack connection would allow them to speak to each other telepathically, but not to hear each other’s thoughts. The mating connection hadn’t been completed because he’d only marked her—not claimed her.
“Is everything okay?”
Mikah had been so caught up with her mate, she’d failed to hear the Alpha’s approach. She jumped away as fast as she could, like a kid caught with their hand in the cookie jar.
“Uhh, yeah,” Jason answered, saving her from the embarrassment.
“Good. Mikah, I wanted to check on you to make sure you’re okay. I know this is all new to you and—well I was worried,” Calder explained.
She nodded to the Alpha, unsure of what to say. Should she curse Gerri for putting her in this position, curse the Alpha for allowing her mate to join the pack? She didn’t want to deal with any of it. Not her mate. Not the Alpha and his genuine concerns for her. So, she did what she did best, shifted to her wolf form and ran.
