Lexi
“Go aheadand ask her how things are going between her and Bennett,” Adley pushes and I sit on the barstool opposite her, flipping her off. “Because well into the night and again this morning I heard just how good it’s going.”
“Do tell.” Jillian nudges me from one side and Kendall from the other.
“We all have our own predictions, but I say Bennett is packing some major heat in those jeans of his.” Kendall holds up her hand to fist bump Adley.
“Preach it, girl,” Adley coaches her along.
“You both are so crude.” I roll my eyes and ignore their continued comments.
“Please the things I heard from your mouth last night were crude.” Adley laughs. “I got to say Lex, I never thought you had it in you but damn girl. You are a dirty talker.”
“That is when you know it’s good.” Jillian nods as she works the cookie dough in the bowl. “When you can barely remember your own name. When you see stars.”
“Did you see stars, Lex?” Kendall taunts me.
“I’m not answering you.” I notice the grin on Sutton’s lips.
“Because it was either completely terrible or so good you don’t want to share?” Sophie asks this time and I am surprised because she is normally so quiet and chill. “Me with Ryan I was so quiet because it was literally nothing to shout from the rooftops about. Who wants to talk about hideous sex? Not me, that’s why I never shared the deets. But you better bet if I had a man that knew what he was doing, I’d be bragging.”
“If Bennett is anything like Brant, then he knows exactly what he is doing,” Sutton says with a little shimmy of her hips that makes us all burst out into a fit of laughter.
“Oh my God! How did we land on this topic?” I hang my head and cover my face feeling my cheeks warm.
“What topic?” a deep drawl asks that makes my entire body perk up.
“You,” Adley says before I get the chance to say anything. “And Brant,” she adds with a laugh just as I feel hands rest upon my shoulders, offering a gentle squeeze.
“What about me and Brant?” Bennett asks just before I feel him press a kiss to the top of my head.
My pulse is racing because with the six of us girls together I can guarantee they won’t hold back.
When I hear Adley start, all I want to do is disappear. “The noises coming from your bedroom last night have thrown us into a little debate. Lexi here is all tight-lipped about the activities, no pun intended.”
“Oh my God!” I mumble and hear Bennett chuckle. My face is on fire and I seriously want to drown Adley in the lake.
“Soph here has decided it was either so bad that Lex doesn’t want to bring it up, or it was so damn good her brain is still rattled from the pounding and she can’t form the right words.”
I stand and turn, trying to leave. Hooking my waist Bennett pulls me back and I hide my face in his chest.
“Well,” he says and I feel the word hum through his chest. But that’s it, he just leaves the word hanging in the air.
“Yeah, Lex, well?”
Silence, and I peek through my fingers that cover my face to find them all watching me, waiting.
“I’m leaving,” I say, shaking my head at my so-called friends.
“Rattled brain,” Sophie singsongs from the kitchen. “I’m going with that option. Bennett doesn’t look like he’s got robot moves.”
Bennett chuckles, moving his mouth closer to my ear. “I don’t know babe, do I move like a robot?”
“Stop it,” I say, pinching his side and he shifts to try to move away. “Subject change,” I say, waving my hands at the girls. “Kendall what happened with that mechanic guy?”
“One and done,” she says without hesitation, like Bennett and Brant aren’t both right there with us. “I’ve got one rule and that’s if a man doesn’t know what he’s doing when he goes downtown, then you should never revisit that scenario again. I swear that man had never been face to face with lady bits before.”
I regret asking, when I see the light come on in Adley’s eyes and she looks back at me.
