“Ideas? Okay, let’s backtrack some. It’s clear to me, and I really hope you’ve caught up with this fact, that Grayson is staying in Assjacket for good. At least, he’s going to be wherever you are.” She raised her index finger, stopping me from chiming in. “I know you love your house, but are you willing to move into his place? Or do you think Gray will move into yours?”

“Isn’t it way too soon to talk about living arrangements?” I asked, my heart speeding up at the thought.

“I don’t think so,” Grayson said, his deep voice awakening the nerve endings along my skin.

I yelped with surprise, but Cami merely smirked. “You knew he was behind me, didn’t you?”

Cami shrugged unapologetically as she slid a chocolate-covered PBJ donut my way. “Here, try it now.”

Grayson stepped up to me and wrapped an arm around my waist. “Is that a PBJ in donut form with chocolate on top?”

Cami laughed. “Damn Shifter noses. Yes, it is. If this one shares, you can try it.”

After swallowing, I offered Grayson a bite of heaven. A devilish grin filled his face, and he dipped his mouth to mine, ignoring the tasty morsel in my hand. His tongue swiped along my lips before delving inside.

“Mmm, very good indeed,” he said.

Cami fanned her face with a cookie sheet. “It’s a damn shame you don’t have a brother.”

Grayson laughed. “So, Cam, what do you think about the living situation?”

“Oh,Grayson McCune, are you trying to get me in trouble? All right, here’s what I think. The only people our little Aileen here has ever lived with are her parents. She’s incredibly particular about her things. In y’all’s shoes, I say she and Rita move into your house and the guys move into her house.”

“I don’t want the commute to work,” I whined.

Cami laughed. “Now that you’re teleporting, finally, you can learn to control it, and you won’t have a commute.”

“Have you had any more spontaneous teleportation since the one to my place?” Grayson asked.

“No, that was the last time.”

“Cam, do you think you can work with her to figure that out, now that she’s done it?”

Cami nodded. “I’m sure I could. I still don’t know why she couldn’t when we were kids, but now that she can recognize the feeling, I think it will be easy peasy.”

“Cam, will you be joining us for dinner?” Grayson asked.

“And become the third wheel? No, thanks. I love you both, but nope.”

“You’ve never been our third wheel,” I said.

Cami set her hand on mine and smiled. “You guys never did anything wrong. There’s always been this Grayson-and-Aileen show, and I’ve been blessed to have front-row seats to it, but I’m going to pass tonight. If anything, why don’t you try to teleport to the diner? It can be good practice, and Grayson will be there waiting for you.”

“That’s a great idea.” Grayson kissed my forehead and pulled Cami into a quick hug. “I’ll see you there, baby. You got this,” he said and headed the direction he’d come from minutes ago.

“Cam, I’m so sorry if—”

“STOP! I’m stopping you there. Grayson hasalwaysbeen your person, and you, his. No one could be happier for what’s happening between you two other than me—I mean, except for you two obviously. I meant what I said. Now get those cells warming, because your mate is waiting for you. Imagine the front of the diner… the bench outside with old wine barrels filled with flowers. You got this, cuz.”

Hugging Cami, I kissed her on the side of her head. “I love you more than chocolate croissants.”

Cami laughed. “You better. Now get!”

Releasing her, I shook out my hands and closed my eyes. I envisioned the front of the diner and exhaled loudly. When another few seconds passed and nothing had happened, I growled. “It’s not working!”

“Feel your cells moving, getting hotter the faster they go, a tingling sensation along your limbs with their movement.”

After a few minutes, the only thing warming me was my frustration. “Ugh! I suck at this!”
