“Fuck yeah, I really would.” I’m holding the phone out with one hand while the other is clutching my shirt. Hopefully, I don’t give him a nip slip, though I’m thinking he wouldn’t mind it whatsoever.

“Anyways…” There’s no way I can take another conversation filled with verbal foreplay even with my core begging for another orgasm. “Is everything okay? I promise I’m leaving in, like, ten minutes, max fifteen.” I’m not doing anything exuberant with my hair today—a ponytail or a bun. My outfit is more relaxed, too. There are still three more days, and I don’t want to overdo it when everyone knows the last day of the festival is when you go all out.

“Take your time. You weren’t answering your texts. Iwasn’t sure if you were already on the road, so I placed the order, but instead of the blue store, you’ll have to hit the red store. You want a coffee before I hitSend?” He licks his lips, and my nipples decide they like it when he does that. Jude focuses on my chest, particularly the area where my fingers are. One is above my nipple, the other below, and there’s no denying how I feel when he’s around.

“That works. Sorry, I got sidetracked, and I would love a coffee. Iced caramel latte with sweet cream.” Jude’s eyes darken.

“You got it. Text me when you leave, yeah?”

“I will.” We hang up the phone, even though I can tell he wants to stay on the line. Except if I do that, I’ll be naked, then I’ll beg to do more than talk, and that will only prolong the process in getting to see Jude in the flesh.

JUDE

“Foxy.” The minute she opens her door, I breathe out her name. Finally feeling like the oxygen in my lungs is flowing freely. This goddamn protective side is going to do me in, and sadly, it doesn’t start or end with Ronnie. I’m this way with each friend in our group, along with their extended family. There are times I drive myself fucking crazy with how many times I check on everyone before finally allowing myself to sleep. Add it to the never-ending nervous ticks of mine.

“Jude.” She looks up at me. My eyes sweep the length of her body, much like I did on the video call we had earlier. I knew all along Ronnie hadn’t left. Her phone was inactive, and my texts sat unanswered. My mind started spinning, and the only way I could settle it down was by dialing her number, this time with a FaceTime call. The damn thing rang so many times I thought she’d never answer, and then she did. Goddamn, the need to free my cock and use myhand all over again came so fast I’d almost set a list of demands for Ronnie. Starting with dropping her shirt and giving me a full three-hundred-sixty-degree view.

“Glad you finally made it.” I drop a kiss to her lips, keeping it short and sweet. Even though I’d love nothing more than to hear Ronnie’s soft moans, to have her taste on my tongue, and watch as her body comes to life.

“Yeah, me too. Sorry it took me longer than I initially thought.” I back away, allowing her room to unfold from her seat. My gaze moves to the back of the car. The vehicle does not fit her in the least. It’s a fish bowl, older than shit, and could use more work than it’s worth. “I also may have gone overboard,” she says with a wince.

“Drinks and food will be demolished, there’s no doubt about that.” I attempt to ease her mind over the grocery pick-up. The order she sent me had me shaking my head. I’d already purchased plenty to get both of us through the first couple of days and could always order more. Now it seems we won’t have to, plus it gave Ronnie a sense of purpose. “Or are you talking about your suitcase and bag?” I pull out the bags of groceries, do the same with her carry-on-size roller deal, then grab the canvas tote that’s filled to the brim.

“The bags, definitely. Like you said, we’ll probably destroy the food and then some. I didn’t have a chance to put outfits together, then I overthought the whole ordeal and tossed more shit than I wanted to in my bags.” She pulls up the handle on the suitcase while I grab everything else to distribute evenly in both hands.

“Not worried about that. Make sure you lock your doors, Foxy.” We’re not too far away from the van, or I would havegrabbed the foldable wagon to toss everything in and go from there.

“Why? I doubt very seriously anyone’s going to do anything. They’d probably do me good. Laila here is on her last leg. Carrying full coverage is ridiculous, but you never know.”

“Ronnie, please tell me you lock your doors anytime you leave the car.” I clench my jaw. I’m not worried about the hunk of junk being stolen, more along the lines of some whacked-out individual getting in the backseat, laying low, and hurting her.

“Um, for the most part, I do, and yes, before you start in on me, Zane and my dad are the same way, too. I remember to lock Laila at night, but during the day, I sometimes forget.” She looks at me for a quick second then clicks the lock button on the inside of the door panel. I notice she doesn’t have a key fob, that or the car is too damn old to have one.

“Christ, you’re going to give me a heart attack.” The minute her door is shut, she moves next to me, and we make the trek to my van.

“I should have thought about that. They have a unicorn-shaped pool! I bet that comes in handy when you need a break in between sets.” The campers in this area go all out—flags, pools, slip and slides, music, and grills are set up. They’ve thought of everything and then some.

“Hey, bud,” I call out to Steve-O when we make it near his camp site.

“Hey, Jude, see you got your woman. Nice to meet you.” He tips his head at Ronnie.

“Nice to meet you, too.” The interaction only lasts for aminute before we’re off again. Usually, Steve-O and I try to coordinate to get slots near one another. This year, shit didn’t align, but the good news is, he’s only a few spots away.

“Here we are.” I put my thumb to the keypad, the mechanism unlocks, and I open the door. I kept the air conditioning running. Being able to hook up to power and water has been a gamechanger. The power costs more, but the benefits outweigh needing to use a backup generator. The gas prices they charge at the venue rivals that of jet fuel.

“This is so cool. I’ve never been inside one of these,” Ronnie says as I hold the door open for her, allowing her to walk in front of me. Her ass is in my face as she takes the steps that leads to the open area of the open-concept living and kitchen area. I didn’t plan this very well. Her ass right in front of me the moment she gets to the second stair has me in a precarious position. I could bend over the slightest bit and sink my teeth into the fleshy part of her cheeks. When she spins around, my eyes haven’t pulled up fast enough, and I’m caught red fucking handed like a damn novice. “Were you staring at my ass, Jude Ellison?”

My head snaps up to Ronnie’s face. I lick my lips and press my teeth into my bottom lip before answering. Meanwhile, she pops a leg out, places her hands on her hips, and tries her hardest to look pissed at me objectifying her.

“And what if I was?” I follow up, placing the bags on the counter and dropping her tote on the couch. She stays where she is, same exact pose, eyes moving with each slow prowl I take toward her. It isn’t until my hands cup the sides of her fine-as-hell body, my thumbs dangerously close the undersideof her tits, where I can drag them slowly and watch as she responds.

“Well, I’m not exactly sure.” Ronnie’s hands drop from her hips, the tips of her fingers grazing the outside of my arms as she circles them around my neck. I take another step closer, caging her in until there’s no more room to go.

“It’s a sexy-as-hell ass, Foxy. You can even say I’m obsessed with it. And these shorts… Goddamn Almighty.” They’re similar to what she wore yesterday, except dark green and looser in the legs, showing the cheeks of her ass with every move she makes. The top is off one shoulder, cut to shreds in various places, and covers her stomach. Ronnie’s hair is up in a ponytail, face void of makeup, and instead of the black shit kickers she had on yesterday, today, it’s a pair of low-top black sneakers.

“I guess it’s a good thing I like your level of fixation.” My head dips, nose gliding along hers. The softness of her body coalesces with mine, and just as I’m about to kiss her the way I wanted to at her car, my cell rings.
