“That’s because I am yours. And you’re mine.” Griffin kissed him. “Tell me your secret while we’re still stuck together.”

“Are you sure? It’s kind of big. You might not like me anymore after I tell you.” Was Toby serious?

“I love you no matter what.” Griffin knew it would take more than just words. He’d have to show Toby that he wasn’t going anywhere. It was just a matter of sticking around. Easy peasy.

“I can make people disappear. I don’t need a spell or a conjure. I can just do it. I call it magicking someone away, but there isn’treally a term for it in the magic world. Teleportation, I think, would be the scientific term.”

“You said something about that in the hospital.” But he hadn’t gone into the particulars.

“I don’t remember that.”

“You had a severe concussion.”

“Oh.” Toby bit his lip. “So are you okay with it?”

“I love you. More now than ever. But you were right not to tell people. That sort of ability is rare and powerful. The magic council will want to know about you, but I think we need to proceed with caution with them.”

Toby relaxed a bit, but he was still a little stiff. “I killed someone once.”

Griffin raised his eyebrows. “Tell me about that. And then I’ll tell you about the time I killed someone.”

“It was a wolf shifter named Mark Sibly. He and his cronies killed my father. I magicked him away to the desert. I didn’t know where exactly he went at the time. But Wolf Dickwad mentioned he’d died. I googled him. There’s a news article about when they found him.”

“Who is Wolf Dickwad, baby?” Griffin needed a name.

“I don’t remember his actual name, but he’s connected to the used car guy somehow. Or his kid, Head Dickwad.” Toby’s cock softened enough to slip out of Griffin.

“Bobby Ball? Junior is the one who attacked Julia.”

“Yes, that’s Head Dickwad. I don’t know Wolf Dickwad’s name.”

“That sounds like Jackson Polk.” Griffin cursed. He should have suspected Bobby Ball all along. It made sense. He had always been full of himself. “Polk is Bobby’s muscle. He does all Bobby’s dirty work.”

“I want to make them go away.”

Griffin nodded. “Let’s not tell my dad. Okay?”

It was risky for it to be just the two of them, but he’d get Riley on board.

Toby bit his lip. “I don’t want you to get hurt.”

“Ditto. We’re in this together. No more doing shit alone, remember?”

“I know, I know. I promised. That’s why I think we should get your dad to help us. Maybe Riley and his mate, too.”

Griffin sighed. “We have a very strong chance of him shutting us down.”

“Then we’ll take them out alone. But if you’re right and this is a power play, then it could turn ugly real fast. We need someone to have our backs.” Toby’s wheels were already turning.

“Is our marathon of sex over?” Griffin was a little saddened by that. He would be mourning the loss of all that sex if not for the fact that his dick was a little raw and his asshole ached.

Toby giggled again. “We’ll go another round when we put an end to our problem.”

Bobby Ball was the problem, but proving it would be difficult. Bobby Ball never got his hands dirty. He left that to other people.

Chapter Twenty-One

Toby wanted Griffin again. He’d never get enough, which was good news. The bad news was that they were walking into the sheriff’s house, where their meeting was supposed to take place.
