Or maybe something else.

Something darker.

“Release my pet,” he whispered silkily, his eyes shifting to the wrist still in my mouth.

I immediately dropped Emine’s hand.

He caught it before it could fall, bringing the wound up to his mouth and striking out like a panther demolishing his prey.

Except Emine didn’t scream in pain.

She shrieked in pleasure as his bite immediately sent her spiraling into a climax against Lily’s mouth.

I continued to hold her in place, demanding in her mind that she not stop until Khalid gave permission. But Lily didn’t seem keen on ending the experience, her thoughts having traveled to her own rapture and the sensation of having my tongue against her sweet heat.

She considered my fangs, how they felt against her clit, how they’d terrified her before. I delved into that train of thought, curious as to the cause of her fear, and found it in the memories from her classes with Master Peyton.

That sadistic bitch used pleasure as a weapon, turning it into pain and punishing the humans beneath her as a result.

Too many of my kind operated in that manner.

But Khalid proved now that not all of them did.

He drew out Emine’s pleasure in a warm way, shiftinghis mouth up to her throat to bite her again, but softly this time. She immediately fell into a third climax, this one similar to the first one he’d delivered before Lily had dropped to her knees.

By the time he finished, Emine seemed to be having trouble opening her eyes, her body having gone limp against him. “That’s enough, Lily,” Khalid said as he caught Emine and pulled her up into his arms. “We’ll resume our training tomorrow.”

He didn’t give either of us a chance to comment, instead choosing to teleport away with Emine and leaving me with a still-kneeling Lily.

Chapter 34

Lily

Master Cedric’spalm branded my lower back as he helped me float in the pool.

After Prince Khalid had dismissed us, Cedric had asked if I’d wanted to go for a swim.

I’d agreed.

Because I’d wanted to cool off after mytrainingwith Emine. But the cool water did little to dispel the heat burning through my veins.

The fear of potentially drowning didn’t do much either, particularly as I could hear the safety in Cedric’s mind.

He would never hurt me.

He’d play with me, even scare me a little, but the sadistic beast inside him had claimed me on a level not even Cedric seemed to understand.

Rather than fight it, he was embracing it.

And trying to teach me how to swim.

“Arms out,” he said. “You have to find your balance.”

He showed me with his mind what he meant, but I couldn’t just pull the existing skill into my body.

Understanding a concept and applying the concept were two entirely different activities.

As evidenced by my sinking form when Master Cedric removed his palm.
