“Okay,” she says, her voice soft. She swallows again. “Anything else, my lord?”
I narrow my gaze again. “Yes. You can stop calling memy lord.”
With that, I disappear and leave Maliki to handle her move.
It’s the least he can do after seducing my female.
I may have taunted him with that concept, but I didn’t anticipate him rolling all over her and drenching the female in his scent.
My chest rumbles with a mixture of disapproval and need.
Because part of me likes their combined scents.Like a bouquet of fire lilies tied up in a leathery ribbon.
Ridiculous.
Insane.
Fucking hot.
I shake my head. If Maliki were here, I would seek him out for a sparring match, as I’m suddenly in the mood to hit something. Or someone.
The problem ishe’sthe one I want to hurt.
Energy swarms around me as soon as I enter my office, the signature one I recognize instantly.
I turn to face my cousin as he says, “You’re welcome.”
I have no idea what Morpheus is talking about.
And I don’t fucking care.
I simply reply, “Yeah, you’ll do.” And introduce my fist to his face.
Chapter 20
Morpheus
My jaw smartsfrom Hades’s abrupt hit, my smile disappearing in a flash.
Alpha aggression is dangerous. It easily escalates into feral territory.
So when he attempts to land another blow, I wrap my arms around him and mist us to a deserted field in our home realm.
It’s more desolate than the Barren Lands of the Hell Fae Realm.
It’s simply nothing apart from scorched dirt, making it the perfect place for whatever Hades has in mind.
He yanks off his jacket and drops it onto the charcoaled ground. I follow suit.
His button-down shirt is next, the buttons scattering as he all but rips it off.
I do the same, though I’m a bit more careful with my fingers and manage to disrobe without destroying my shirt.
He paces around me, his dark eyes glittering with barely restrained power. I’m surprised his wings haven’t appeared, his black plumes an ominous flurry of feathers that he rarely displays.
But anger is usually a catalyst for his beast to come out. Interesting that he’s holding that part of him back. For now, anyway.
I match him step for step, my energy building in cadence with his own.
