CHAPTER THREE

That night, after my meeting with Ava, I went home to submit the form to become a guest. I didn’t want to do it at work and have the IT department see that I’d searched a sex club even if it was for a case. As I pulled up the website, I read on the home page:

Sensation.

A sacred place free from judgement or inhibitions.

The only rule: Ask before you touch.

Sensation is an exclusive black-tie party attended by at least one hundred and fifty of the clubs most privileged members, and held once a month at an undisclosed mansion in Beverly Hills.

You may watch.

You may interact.

You can come together or you can choose to come alone.

The choice is yours.

Would you like it rough?

Would you like to be caressed and worshipped?

Or would you simply like to observe?

What do you desire?

What did I desire? It wasn’t some guy I hooked up with at a bar or my neighbor that only wanted me for sex. I wanted somethingmore. Someone who didn’t care what I did for a living and wanted more than one night with me. I hadn’t been with a man in a few months. I went on dates that never led anywhere because I either didn’t like them or they got turned off because of my profession.

Immediately after I submitted the form, an email arrived in my inbox, letting me know where I had to go to be tested for sexually transmitted diseases. Before I could read more about Sensation—though I didn’t think a sex club was my cup of tea either—Sam had a visitor. There was no way that I could read about how to become a member (even if I wanted to) or anything of that nature while Sam was screwing some chick right behind my bedroom wall. So, I closed my laptop, turned up the TV and watched my favorite comedyHow to Get the Girlwith the drop dead hunk Jason Black. He wasdefinitelyon my celebrity fuck list.

“I can’t believe you’re going to a sex club tonight,” Lorelei exclaimed. “And without me.”

I laughed. The entire week she’d been bitching about how I was going and she wasn’t, and now that I was getting ready to leave, her bitching was a million times worse. “You act like I’m going to get my freak on.”

She chortled. “You think you’re just going to walk in, find Trent, serve him and leave?”

“Um, yeah,” I stated as I swipedMACShroom eyeshadow along the brow bone of each eye.

“Peyton.” Lorelei cocked her hip, placing her hands on either side. “You are not, and I repeat, notgoing to let this opportunity slip by.”

I set my eyeshadow brush on my bathroom counter. It clicked against the granite as it settled. “This is for work.”

Lorelei threw her hands in the air. “Oh my God! You’re going to an elite sex club where there are famous people. Famous people who want to fuck, and you aren’t even going to cross a name off your celebrity fuck list?”

I looked down at the floor, thinking about what she was saying. I honestly hadn’t thought about it before now. “You think they’d want to do a no-name like me?”

Her eyes bugged out. “Um yeah! I’ve been telling you for years that you’re hot as fuck. You don’t listen to me.”

“But I’m not like Ava. Jason Black isn’t going to look twice at me.”

Her mouth dropped open. “Jason Black is a member?”

I rolled my eyes and reached for my eyebrow brush again. “I don’t know. But I’m saying that a celebrity like Jason will be all over other celebrities. Not some chick who has had him on her celebrity fuck list for four years.”

“I thought it wasn’t only celebrities that are a part of this club?”

I swiped a shade of Copperplate in the crease of my eyelid as I spoke. “It isn’t. I’m just giving an example.”
