“Were you just about to hit her?” I questioned, holding her arm. Nicole looked up at me, finally realizing I was standing there.

“I’m outta here.” The blonde freed her arm and stormed off.

“In my office, Nicole!” Avery yelled a few seconds later, then looked at me. “Thank you,” he mouthed.

I watched Nicole and Avery go upstairs and then turned my gaze back to Brooke. “What are we going to do with you two?” I questioned. I was only half joking.

“Me?” she asked, her beautiful green eyes looking up at me.

“Yeah.” I smiled. “You two and your shenanigans.”

“Nicole’s the fighter, not me.” She glared at me as if I was serious. Iwasserious, but thankfully, Brooke’s trickery hadn’t escalated to an almost a bar brawl.

I kissed her lips quickly. “No more.” I pointed my finger at her.

“All right, all right.” She rolled her eyes.

I leaned down and whispered in her ear, “You’re lucky I need to hurry back behind the bar to help Traver, or I’d take you to my car and spank that pretty ass of yours for rolling your eyes.”

“I’m not into that, boss man.” She tried to shove my chest, but I didn’t budge.

“We’ll see about that.” I laughed. “What do you want to drink?”

She thought for a few seconds. “Margarita with salt, and make it how I like it.”

“You want to get drunk so I can have my way with you?”

She pushed at my chest again, and this time I let her move me. “Go make my drink, but don’t let the crazy bitches know it’s on the house, Mr. Boss Man.”

I gave her another quick peck on the lips before going behind the bar again. After making Brooke her drink—a double—I handed it to her as she squeezed between customers. Minutes later, Avery returned.

“Everything good?” I asked while pouring a Jack and Coke.

“Yeah.” He laughed. “Women.”

I laughed too, and then we spent the next two hours busy as fuck.

I was starving, Brooke was tipsy, and my feet hurt. “Bored yet?” I asked, handing Brooke water.

“You’re cutting me off?” she slurred.

Okay, maybe she was more than a little tipsy.

“It’s last call.”

“Okay… So give me another!” She held up her empty glass, the ice clinking the sides.

I motioned with my finger for her to lean over the bar. “Don’t you want to remember me fucking you?” I whispered in her ear.

She pulled back, her emerald eyes staring into my blue ones. “Hmmm, well, since all the chicks in this place want to go home with you, I might as well live out that fantasy. I want to remember that.”

I laughed. “You live out that fantasy every night.”

She chuckled and looked toward a few of the women then back at me. “Yeah, buttheydon’t know that.”

I leaned back over the bar and kissed her quickly then walked the few feet to where Traver was waiting for his customer’s drinks. “Hey, can you do me a solid?” I asked, grabbing a glass to pour his drinks.

“Sure, what’s up?”
