There’s a baby in there. Our baby.

I shouldn’t be surprised. I mean, I’ve been coming in her since I took her that first time. But actually seeing the result—knowing that we’ve created something that will bind us together forever—is incredible.

Bella nods, tears pooling in her eyes. “You’re happy, right?”

“Happy? Baby, are you nuts? This is wonderful!” She throws her arms in the air, and I catch her, pulling her to me. “And you know what? This is the perfect time.”

“Perfect time for what?”

“For somethingI’vebeen waiting to surprise you with.”

Bella follows me with her eyes as I go to the closet, reach into the top drawer that I know she can’t reach, and pull out my surprise.

Cupping it behind my back, I walk over to her, and smiling, drop to one knee.

Her eyes go wide, and she clasps a hand over her mouth.

Pulse racing, I show her the velvet ring box, and tears plummet from her eyes and spill down her cheeks.

“Isabella Rossi. You changed my life forever. From the moment you stepped into my office, I was a changed man. I thought I knew who I was, but I was wrong. And because of you, I am better.” I pop the lid of the box, showing her the ring. She gasps. “Will you stay with me forever, so I can be the happiest man on earth for the rest of my life? Will you marry me?”

She doesn’t even hesitate.

“Yes! Oh my God, yes!”

My heart is nearly ready to explode with warmth that flows through every inch of my body. I take her hand and slide the ring onto her finger, fully solidifying that she is nowmine.

“I love you, baby. Thank you.”

“I love you too, Viktor.”

We kiss, and it’s like the rest of the world just melts away. All that matters now is her—us. My only job is to make sure she’s happy and to provide for my child.

I never deserved this.

I deserved prison, punishment, but I was granted peace.

And I’m the luckiest son of a bitch alive.

EPILOGUE

VIKTOR

4 years later…

Morning light poursacross the lawn of our ranch, painting Bella’s skin as she tends to the herbs in our garden. She’s humming something while plucking basil leaves. I can smell them from here on the porch.

Four years ago, and I would have been alone in my penthouse, counting up debts owed to me. Now I’m watching my wife care for the things we grow.

Grow…no longer destroy…

The transformation still amazes me.

“I can feel your eyes on me,” she says without turning around. I can hear the smile in her voice.

“Can you blame me?” I move up behind her, sliding my hand up her dress and feeling the slight swell of her belly. “I think you might be twice as sexy when you’re pregnant.”

She leans back into me, causing blood to rush to my cock. “If that’s the case, we’re going to have more kids than we know what to do with.”
