And she didn’t need to. Her silence was an answer in itself.
“My car’s out front. Grab your things.” I leaned close, whispering against her mouth. “Meet me there.”
Wordlessly, she slipped away toward the back. When I returned to the table, the idiots in suits were still muttering.
“How the fuck does he do it?” one groaned.
Killian just shook his head, sipping his whiskey. The fucker knew he was bound to lose.
I snapped my fingers, grabbing my things. “Quickly now. Seven of you here so I’d better see seventy grand in the next twenty-four hours.”
Their groans followed me out, but I didn’t care. Because she was waiting for me.
I met her at the side door, arms folded, biting her lip as nervousness creeped up her throat.
I approached her slowly.
"I've never had a one-night stand before," she muttered, and I narrowed my eyes internally.
Who the hell said it'd be one night?
“If you don’t feel comfortable, Sunshine, we can go our separate ways,” I assured her, and I meant it.
She nodded her head but didn't move.
“Unless…” I coaxed, sliding my hands around her waist.
Her answer came fast, her arms thrown around my neck, her mouth crashing back to mine in another passionate kiss. I groaned, hauling her up, her legs tight around my hips as I carried her to the car.
Is this what true love is?
What is the matter with you? You don't even know her first name.
Hmmm… small details, but important ones.
Her laughter filled the night when I dropped her into the backseat. Pulling off my shirt, she hummed as I leaned over her.
"And what if someone sees us? Hmmm? We could get in trouble."
“Well, Sunshine, no one’s going to stop us. I run this city.”Well, Killian runs half of it... OK, technically all of it, but I'm there… most of the time.
"And if someone does come…” My teeth grazed her ear. "Then we'd better give them a damn good show.”
She gasped as my grip on her waist tightened, and she ran her hands over my shoulders, her breaths cutting short as she greedily lifted her hips to grind into mine.
Fuck, I wasn’t supposed to want her like this. But I’d never wanted a woman to beg, cry, and come undone as much as I wanted her. She was fucking perfect. Flawless, to be exact… And if she thought this was just a one-night stand? She had no idea what she’d started.
Dragging her down the hall by the waist, her vanilla scent wrecked me as she giggled into my neck.
“How the hell are we going to keep you quiet, Sunshine? People are sleeping.”
She kissed my throat, wicked little smile flashing as I unlocked the door. “I can think of a few ways.”
Her ass swayed through the room ahead of me, her eyes gleaming over the expensive suite.
“Spoiled brat,” I muttered under my breath.
My little fucking spoiled brat. Yeah, that definitely sounds better.
