Talking to her wouldn't be a sexual interaction... but Lucifer, on the other hand, was watching my every move tonight...Tonight.I glanced over to the clock to see it was miraculously 11:59 PM, and as if I was fucking Cinderella, the clock struck 12 AM.

I stood abruptly, prepared to make my move.

Killian looked over to me. "Blaine, sit down. I said no women tonight for you.”

"Yes, yes, I know, Kiki, no women tonight. However, unfortunately for you, tonight... is now tomorrow. So, I no longer have to listen like a good dog. I'm a free man now.”

“Hundred bucks says he gets rejected,” one of the idiots muttered.

Killian chuckled darkly. “Gentlemen, please… don’t insult him with pocket change. The woman said it herself. We have money to spend like there's no tomorrow. I raise your offer tenfold."

"You're really betting $1,000 to see me fail?" I asked, appalled.

Killian shook his head. "You're right. Let's make it $10,000."

The men nodded and continued to place bets as I scoffed and walked away. Their laughter followed me as I strode toward her. Let them bet. Let them doubt. None of it mattered since I was already going to win tonight.

Chapter two

Blaine

Walking over to the bar slowly, I ordered a shot of whiskey while blatantly eavesdropping on the conversation being held at the next table over...

“Pull up a chair, gorgeous. You know we love your company,”some creep slurred at her.

This felt weird. I wasn't stalker material. That was more of Killian's type of vibe, but... this woman made me feel… jittery…like a fucking horny teenage boy.

She simply smiled, nonchalantly pulling herself away from the man's wandering hands. She kept her uncomfortableness at a minimum as she took the hundred-dollar bill from the man while turning his creepy ass down with class...

Smart girl... good girl.

No! No, Blaine… you haven't even said a word to the woman. Pull yourself together. You run an empire, for Christ's sake.

Maybe Kiki was right.I do have a problem…but I'll have to deal with my failures in life later.

She came to the bar, set her tray down, and started counting bills. I slid in next to her, placing my glass on the counter.

“Seems you wandered from your flock of businessmen,” she said without looking up. Her voice was soft, too soft. It shot straight to my fucking dick.

Hold it together… Hold it together.

"Seems I have. Though, there's nothing too interesting over there, to be quite honest.”

She finally looked at me, and my mouth went dry. Goddamn, her eyes were beautiful.

"And you found something more interesting over here?”

"I sure did, Sunshine." The nickname slipped out before I could stop it as I stared into her eyes.Who the fuck am I...? Why was that the first thing that came out of my mouth?

She bit her lip. "Sunshine. That's cute. "

Cute? I’m Blaine fucking Porter, not some damn puppy,I tried to convince myself, but my chest felt warm… too fucking warm.

What is this woman doing to me?

“You’re quite the hustler,” I said, genuinely impressed.

She shrugged, casual. “I gotta make money somehow. And I’m not getting up on stage to strip, no matter how much those girls rake in.”
