“We’re coming home today,Mommy. Truce said our flight isn’t until five. Daddy is taking TJ to school, and I’m picking Tristian up first thing in the morning.”

The sound of Billie’s voice pulled me out of my sleep.

I turned over, stretched, and looked at the clock. Seeing seven thirty in big red letters had me ready to find my wife to wring her neck. Then I remembered it was Sunday, and she was probably about to stream church.

God saved her because had it been for any other reason, she would have heard my mouth.

“Puddin’, you late. You giving out old information. My darling son-in-law has already informed your father and I what we were doing.”

“Well, excuse me for trying to be responsible.” Billie’s laughter carried from the living room, and I smirked. I loved the sound of that woman’s laugh. “Oh! Your sister called me, so please call her back and remind her that she’s taking the bus, too, with the rest of the family next Saturday. She made it seem like I couldn’t handle hosting because you’re helping with transportation.”

“Puddin’, don’t make me mad on the Lord’s day.”

I chuckled and climbed out of bed.

“I’m just telling you want happened, Mother Dear.”

Mother and daughter talked a little bit more, then I heard the praise and worship music coming from the computer.

I ended up falling back to sleep. The next time I woke up it was because I felt Billie’s creepy ass hovering over me. When I opened my eyes, she smiled at me, and I pushed her goofy ass away from me. She fell out into a fit of giggles.

The smile on my wife’s face was genuine, and I felt good about our getaway.

“You ready to get back home?”

“I am . . .” she dragged. “I appreciate you for kidnapping me, but I miss my babies. I feel bad for even needing a break from regular life though.”

“You are more than just a wife, mother, and baker. Taking a break keeps all of those in working order. When you’re good, so is everyone and everything else, but I won’t front like I don’t miss them too.”

Billie wrapped her arms around my neck and pecked my lips.

I hugged her body to mine and just held her with my head buried in her neck. At first, I just held her to me, then I found myself kissing her exposed shoulder. Billie pulled back and looked at me. The lust in her eyes was clear. She grabbed my face and looked deep into my eyes. I buried my fingers in her hair and snatched her head back.

Billie moaned, and her teeth sank into her bottom lip.

“Not you trying to get busy on the Lord’s day.” She smirked, and I kissed the side of her mouth.

“As your husband, as long as you’re the only person I’m getting busy with, the day doesn’t matter.”

“I better be the only damn person.”

She pinched my earlobe and mugged me.

I smiled, and she rolled her eyes but allowed me to kiss her lips. Billie sighed against my lips, and I rolled over so her body rested under mine. She spread her legs, and I settled between them.

We didn’t have much time, but I wanted us to bask in our last few minutes of alone time.

“You were made for me. There is no other woman breathing that could get me out of my socks, let alone my pants. Plus, I’m not crazy enough to fuck up a good thing. Losing you and my boys aren’t an option.”

“I know, baby. Knowing your heart provides a comfort that can never break what we have between us.”

“Good. Now kiss me.”

Billie grinned and lifted her head.

I met her halfway and pressed my lips against hers. My wife knew how to get down, but I loved the softness of her. It was only reserved for me, and I would never take that for granted. Billie swiped her tongue across my bottom lip, and I opened mine to receive her.

She arched off the bed and bit my lip.
