Angrily, she turned back onto her side with her back facing him and spoke to the wall. "Then why make me do all of that? Why threaten me and make me remove my implant if it's pointless?"

Closing the distance between them, Dimitri pressed himself against her back until her plump ass was pressed against his front. He groaned into her neck and reached around her snaking his hand up her long shirt. The satin fabric of her panties glided past his fingers as he slipped between her legs.

He closed his eyes to the small, startled inhalation of her breath. With his middle finger pushing into her hot channel, he kissed her ear. "Like I said, I want nothing between us."

Chapter 26

Knockingonce,Dominicwalkedinto the office. Sitting at his desk, Dimitri only glanced up at him before looking back at the paper in his hand and saying something into the phone. Dominic stood next to the chairs in front of the desk and waited for the phone call to end.

Setting down the phone with a heavy sigh, Dimitri rubbed his eyes. "Good news only," he ordered.

Dominic ignored that. "I just spoke to Ivan's lieutenant down in California and they need Andrey to find some info on the governor."

Dimitri fixed him with a glacial stare. "And why the fuck can't Ivan do it?"

"Yury said that Ivan likes Andrey's work better," Dominic replied flatly.

Dimitri inhaled sharply and shook his head. Turning in his chair, he stared out the window. "Fine, tell Andrey, but tell him I don't want to hear him bitching about it and tell Yury to tell his fucking boss to hire a better IT guy."

A beat passed between them. Dominic watched his boss's profile and smiled to himself as he slowly turned back around in his chair and gave him a tired flat stare.

"And what else?" Dimitri asked, more than annoyed at this point.

Dominic held his amusement at bay and spoke. "The Armenians."

A sizzle of interest sparked in Dimitri's icy eyes and he stared expectantly back at Dominic.

"Nothing," he answered. "Nothing at all. They have either run or they are deep underground."

"Opinion?" Dimitri asked.

Stepping forward, Dominic thought of all the information he parsed together and all the info he knew about Ardem Darbinyan the self-proclaimed leader of the pathetic little organization. The man possessed a moderate level of intelligence but not enough to make up for the complete lack of management of his crew. However, what he lacked in strategy the man made up for in pride. He would not take this direct hit to his crumbling empire lightly.

"We need to treat him as a possible problem. Tighter security and a continuous watch for him and his family until they are located. It's only a matter of time before we hear from him again."

Dimitri nodded, his face hardening as he stared off at something past him. "Take care of it, and from now on I want Eve to have a man with her."

Dominic nodded. He had already thought of this and decided which enforcers he would use for the job.

As the weeks passed by, Dominic grew to understand why Dimitri was ensnared by the girl. For starters, there was an open honesty in everything she did to the point of fault. Reading her was the easiest thing in the world. The moment he saw her face, Dominic knew what the girl was thinking and could accurately guess what she intended to do next.

It was actually kind of amusing to watch her interact with Dimitri. The man was so guarded, hiding everything behind that practiced smile, a trait he had picked up from his former boss, Roman. He wasn't used to being open. With Eve, Dominic watched his boss's true self slip through more and more. Once Dimitri stepped through the front door and laid eyes on her things were immediately different. Any problems and worries gained throughout the day slid off him as he pulled her to him. His usual rigid posture relaxed when he wrapped his arms around her. Whether he acknowledged it or not he was growing content with Eve.

The only one still fighting it was her.

He watched as she glared at Dimitri only to end up fighting back a smile as Dimitri said something to make her laugh. She was losing the battle and had no idea.

Dominic chuckled. For a girl so smart, she was surprisingly clueless about obvious things. Smirking to himself, he remembered her evident shock when she discovered his room in the house. She was coming out of the laundry room when she ran into him. Her wide eyes had scanned his clothes, the pair of lounge pants and wrinkled t-shirt, and looked to the open door of the bedroom behind him, piecing together the facts in slow motion.

"Do you live here?!" she squeaked.

Dominic had never seen Dimitri laugh so hard when he told him later that morning. When Dimitri got home, he made sure to tease her about it even as she eyed Dominic warily from across the room. Dominic could practically see her thoughts on her face.If he lived here how much had he seen?

And the answer was everything.

The whole house was wired with cameras. Besides the bathrooms, there was nothing he could not see. If he wanted, he could turn on the secret camera in the bedroom and watch as his boss sank into the soft, beautiful girl. If he wanted to, he could lose hours of time watching her cling onto Dimitri as he rode her body to completion, but Dominic chose not to. Honestly, he didn't have to. He saw a fair amount as he lay in bed scanning the security footage in and around the house for threats, catching many instances of his boss pinning the girl to the sofa or the kitchen counter. He even caught the mundane workings of their relationship. He watched through the security feed as they bickered over dinner about her lack of use of the credit card Dimitri had given her.

Sitting back in his chair, Dimitri gave her an exasperated look. "Why won't you use the credit card I've given you?"
