Turningher face away from him, Sana tried to hide her smile, but Zach tugged at herhand he still held onto, trying to turn her back around to face him.

"HereI am pouring my heart out to you, and you laugh at me!" Zach couldn't keepthe laughter out in his own voice as he playfully struggled with her to turnher head.

"I'msorry, I'm sorry," she breathed. "It's just that it's an oddcomplaint to have. You have to admit. After everything you and your mother havegone through, you are now surrounded by family who have seemingly accepted youwith ease into their lives. I honestly thought you had lived here since youwere little. Everyone is so friendly and loving towards you. Even Elijah looksat you as if you were a god."

Forthe first time, Sana actually watched as a trace of embarrassment flashedthrough his eyes, now making him the one to turn his head from her. Proud ofherself, she hid her own smile, not wanting to ruin this rare moment.

"Yes,well, it's an odd adjustment, let's just say that," he said, clearing histhroat as he stood to his feet, brushing off some of the sand off his hands.Extending a hand to her, he flashed her a sharp-fanged smile. "Come, walkwith me."

Knowingshe should refuse, she lifted her hand to his anyway, letting him pull her toher feet. Following him along, she watched him give a subtle nod to the tall, stoic boy she had heard him refer to as Noah as they walked along the sandydunes where it met the grassy hill. Spotting her brother sitting next to Elijahunder Lana's umbrella, happily eating a sandwich, Sana knew there would benothing to worry about in regards to her brother. Grabbing her hand, Zachguided her over the terrain as it became rockier and a bit steeper. They wereheading towards the rocky cliff with the abandoned boats, the place she firstmet the wild boy.

Lookingat her cheap flip-flops in dismay, she gave Zach a worried smile. "I'm notsure how much farther I can go in these shoes."

Lookingback over his shoulder, Zach pushed a hand through his thick black hair, combing the silky locks back temporarily from his face. "Don't worry, wewon't go much farther."

Sheknew better than to ask where they were going, but Sana couldn't help butbattle the question threatening to spill over her lips as they walked down arocky incline completely out of sight from the rest of the people at the beach.Stopping at the edge, where the black rock jutted from the land and met theocean, Zach turned to her and grabbed her other hand. They were on the otherside of the large rock formation where the abandoned rowing boats sat. Overhere, they were completely secluded from the highway forty yards up the hilland blocked from sight from the stretch of beach. Only the sounds of the waterlapping at the small cave next to them filled the air.

Justas the realization set in, Zach acted. Pushing her back until she was pressedinto the rough black rock, Zach pressed his long body against her, trappingher.

Alarmed, she looked up at him sharply. "What are you-"

Leaningdown so that they were face to face, Zach's eyes glimmered like forgotten goldat the bottom of the sea. "Why did you hide from me, Sana?"

"Ididn't-" She began, but his restraining grip around her wrists tightenedin warning.

Dippinghis head to her shoulder, she took a sharp breath as she felt his mouth on thebare skin just above the shoulder strap of her swimsuit. "Tell me thetruth," he ground out against her warm skin.

Suddenlyvery scared, she began pushing at his bare chest. The firm, hot skin beneathher fingertips didn't give an inch under her pressure. Undisturbed in hispursuit, his mouth moved up from her shoulder and settled at the tenderjunction at her neck, suckling the skin with a gentleness that made her wiltagainst him while his fingers slipped underneath the strap to her suit.

"Stop,"she pleaded breathlessly.

"Tellme,” he demanded again, his voice deeper, rougher than before as he pushed thestrap down completely.

Feelinghis mouth move further down her bare shoulder, Sana jumped at the feeling ofhis sharp teeth scraping at the skin.

"Iwas scared of you," she cried, her fists that were balled at his chestmoments ago flattened in response to the gentle suckle of the scraped skin ather shoulder no longer pushing him away.

"Iwould never hurt you, Sana," as if to prove his words, he let his warmtongue lave at the skin his teeth scratched against.

"Butyou never takenofor an answer. You always just do what you want withme," she argued, trying her best to retain her will to fight as he moldedhis muscular body against her.

"BecauseI know what you want," he whispered in her ear.

Turningher face away, she tried to argue back and ignore the silken feeling of hisblack hair tickling her cheek. "I don't even know what I want when I amwith you. You terrify me," she admittedly shakily.

Abrief look of hurt shadowed his eyes at her words.

Rushingto continue, Sana shook her head in frustration as she tried to properlyexplain the tumult of emotions. "But at the same time, I cannot stopthinking of you," she confessed in a breathless exhale. "Justyesterday, Elijah told Kamal that you and Noah had gotten into a fight withsome other boys a couple of nights ago, and the sheriff had thrown just you andNoah into jail for the night. He said he had it out for you two. I should havewritten you off there, and then, I should have taken that as a sign that we aretwo very different people. But no, I stayed up half the night worrying andpraying you wouldn't somehow get yourself into worse trouble later. So do nottell me you know-"

Hislips crashed against hers, swallowing her last words. Moving his lips withexpert skill, he opened her mouth to his and raked his tongue across hersigniting her own desperate hunger for his touch. Sana moaned into his mouth.

"Goddamnit, Sana," he snarled through gritted teeth. "You have no idea whatyou do to me." Molding his hand to the curve of her tender breast, coveredby the thin black material of her suit, Zach let her have only one startledgasp for air before sinking his mouth against hers again, coaxing her tongue toslowly dance with his. Letting his thumb graze across her stiff nipple, heripped himself from her mouth at the sound of her small cry of delight."You're right," he snarled, his eyes blazing gold and his expressiondangerous. "We are different more than you will ever truly imagine, but Iknew from the moment I laid eyes on you and saw how sweet and kind you are thatyou belonged to me and I to you. Do you even know how much I want you? Can youfeel what you do to me?"

Pressinghis hips purposely into hers, Zach watched with a groan as her innocent eyeslit up with feminine realization. The hard ridge of his arousal burning easilythrough the wispy material of his swim trunks and searing through the thinfabric of her jean skirt. Murmuring something dark and threatening beneath hisbreath, he kissed her again, this time with a wild urgency he couldn't seem tocontrol.

"Zachariah,"she called out breathlessly, wrapping her fingers in his soft silken hair.

Thegrip around her waist tightened, pulling her so close, Sana could barelybreathe. A sound so low and animalistic ripped from his throat, shaking her toher core. Freezing in place, Sana opened her eyes as she felt his body joltagainst her.
