"Thosebig corporations just want to push us little theaters into the ground,"Mrs. Goldman continued from the other side of the room. She was rummagingthrough an old filing cabinet near the door as she talked, completely obliviousto the creeping hands that traveled up Sana's legs.

Bitingher lip to keep the tiny sound that threatened to come out at bay, Sana lookeddown at the desk in agony as she felt Zach's lips kiss the inside of her thigh.Soft, silky hair rubbed against her, and Sana had to clutch at the desk insupport. She could feel him turning his head before laying anotherdevastatingly soft kiss against her other thigh. Sana wanted to let out awhimper, to cry, to yell at him, to do just about anything other than to try tokeep a straight face as Mrs. Goldman rattled on while Zach tortured her insecret.

"Well,it's the little theaters like us that keep the spirit of cinema alive. Where wouldwe be as a society if we didn’t have independent theaters that hosted all theclassics? We can’t just watch all this new-age garbage. They have no heart andsoul to them. It's not art, it’s just jump-scares and bait and switches, that'sall…"

Sanamade a sound of agreement as she reached down and tried to press at Zach'shead. She needed to push him away. He was getting closer and closer to theoverly heated juncture between her legs. She could feel the tantalizing puffsof his heated breath and the occasional scrape of his sharp teeth. But Zachcaught her hand in his. Bringing it to his mouth, he held her hand tight, notletting her tug it out from his as he turned it over and kissed the center ofher palm. Gliding it up the side of his face, Sana sighed at the feeling of hisstrong jaw and defined cheekbones running across her fingertips. Sinking herfingers into his silky black hair, Zach pulled his guiding hand away, leavingher to clutch at his hair as he pulled her knees forward and bent his headdeeper into the cradle of her thighs.

Withher whole body tense, she waited with held breath and spread legs as the puffof warm air ghosted against the now damp fabric of her panties. Pressingforward, Zach's hands held her on either side of her spread thighs as he laid afirm kiss against her covered clit.

"Oh,"Sana moaned with a shudder as her fingers tightened in Zach's hair.

"Whatwas that, dear?" Mrs. Goldman paused from her speech about the rise of thesmall theater and looked at her.

Bothshe and Zach stilled. With her left hand still clutched in Zach's silken locks, she lifted her marker from the desk and wiggled it between her fingers. "Ijust dropped my marker. I got it now, sorry."

Mrs.Goldman smiled at her. "Well, dear, let me get out of your hair and go seewhat Harry's doing. If I leave him alone for too long, he will jump online andbuy something we cannot afford. Remember, you can stop at any time, sweetheart, and thanks again for your help," she called back just before shutting thedoor once more.

Lettingout a gusting sigh of relief, Sana scrambled to push her chair back from thedesk. With her skirt pushed up around her waist and legs spread, Sana's faceburned as she caught Zach's lazy grin. Pulling himself out from under the desk,he surprised her by remaining kneeling on the floor. Closing her legs, shelooked away from his piercing eyes as she smoothed down her skirt.

"Doyou remember what I told you that night in your room and what I would do to younext time?"

Sana'schest tightened, and every breath felt strained and painful as she recalled hisunforgettable words about tasting her.

Notable to look at him, she nodded. Even without looking, she could feel his smileradiating out, which only made her frown harder. Looking pointedly at the wall, away from him, she responded with a wall of silence while her body slowlycooled and her heart calmed.

"So,you're not going to look at me," his deep voice teased, and she could seehis head tilt to the side in her peripheral vision. "That's fine. Whydon't I just show you what I intended to do, and all you have to do is makesure not to scream." His hands settling on her knees along with his wickedwords brought her attention, snapping back to him.

"Zach,no," she begged, grabbing his questing hands at her knees before theycould move further. "I…I," she swallowed as she looked at the mankneeling in front of her. No longer the boy from last year but a tall, powerfulman that made her body wilt just by his touch and her mind go blank at hissmile. This was just too much to handle. Her heart was racing as if she hadjust run a mile, and her skin felt feverish. She couldn't do this."I…," she began again hesitantly, "think this may be toomuch…that you may be too much for me. You overwhelm me and-"

"Iknow I do," he grinned, enjoying the look of indignation on her face.Rising up, he stood straight before leaning casually against the desk. Placingone booted foot against the base of her chair, he rolled her forward until herknees bumped against his legs. Taking her hand, he held it in his while hiseyes gleamed with feral promise. "But you can handle me, sweetheart."

Sanaswallowed, she felt cornered. With her hand trapped in his and alone in thissmall room, she felt much like a rabbit with its too-fast beating heart beingcornered by a wolf. For a year, she spent nearly every day thinking of this boywho stole her heart and her memories of last summer, but somewhere along theway, she must have romanticized her time with him. How could she forget aboutthe perpetual tinge of fear she felt with him? How each time he left herfeeling exhausted and drained? How could she forget that each moment spent withthe lawless boy—who was no longer a boy but very much a man—felt as if she wasplaying with fire? With him, she was always breaking the rules, always temptingfate for her parents to find out and be vastly disappointed. No, she couldn'tdo this. Her poor heart wouldn't survive a whole summer of this again.

"Ican't," she protested.

"Yes,you can,” he said with a flash of his sharp teeth. Sana could see the urgencyin his eyes. “There's no one else for me, sweetheart. It's gotta be you."

"Why?”she cried, shaking her head. “Why does it have to be me? Why not anyother-"

"BecauseI love you,” he admitted, pulling her up to her feet and into his arms. Tuckedinto the cage his strong arms made around her, Sana was forced to lean her headback a little to look at him directly. “Haven't you realized that yet?” heasked, his eyes searching hers.

Hiswords felt like nothing she had ever felt before, pleasure and painful longingall wrapped into one. Without thought, her hands clutched at his shirt, and shefelt herself tugging him towards her and his lips meeting hers. Zach sighedinto her lips, and she felt his hard chest relax against her as he tightenedhis arms around hers. Hungrily his lips moved over hers, his tongue sweepinginto her mouth as he deepened the kiss. Sana wanted to cry at the explosion ofemotion bursting from her heart.

"Allsummer, do you hear me?" he said, pulling away from her and fixing her witha look of breathless determination. “Every chance you get, we will spend ittogether, ok? Say it, Sana,” he demanded.

Shecould feel the steel corded muscles in his biceps tighten behind her back aseach second passed. "Yes! Yes, of course,” she nodded.

"Good,"he let out an exhale before giving her a wicked grin. "Now, unless youdon't mind me getting caught up here with you, I think I should go before Mrs.Goldman comes back." Cupping her face, he ran the pad of his thumb alongher cheek, and she forced herself not to close her eyes at the feeling ofpleasure the rough skin caused against her face. "I'll see you soon."

Soonwas more like every day that summer. Given just a sliver of more freedom fromhaving to watch her brother or stay anchored to the house, Sana's motherreluctantly allowed her to venture on her own into town to socialize as long asshe was back before nightfall.

Sometimesa thorn of guilt pierced her heart when Sana thought of her grandparents'smiles and cheery goodbyes on her way out the door or her mother's discerninglooks as she shared with her the fabricated plans she had for the day. Theywere trusting her to go out and have fun in the small seaside town they lovedand trusted, not to make a hard right into the forest once she was out of sightand wait for the tall boy with the golden eyes to whisk her into his privateworld.

Lookingdown at her hand, which was safely enclosed in Zach's larger one, she let atentative smile play at her lips as the forgotten thorn of guilt in her chestfell away, replaced by the ache of forbidden excitement and fear only Zachseemed to incite within her. Today he was taking her to the quarry, a placethey had only visited a few times the previous summer and the first place she suggestedwhen he asked her where she wanted to go yesterday when he came over to herhouse under the guise of bringing Elijah over to play with her brother. Withher swimsuit safely hidden under her jean shorts and a loose-fittingLord ofthe Ringst-shirt, she followed along behind him with her backpack as heled her through the winding trails.

Aftera few minutes, Sana finally saw the massive outcropping of boulders and bedrockthat surrounded the quarry.
