“There is no one,” he said. “Just you. Your pleasure. The way you call my name. Can you do that for me, Delaney? Call my name as you let go of all your inhibitions? For me?”

He pulled into an empty spot on my street, put the truck into park and then leaned over toward me, watching me.

It was too much.

His words.

His expression.

His fingers.

“Parker…”

“That’s it. Louder.”

I was going to come. And did. Pulsing around his fingers, I called his name again, watching him watching me. Squeezing my eyes shut for just a second, I let the aftereffects caress my body as Parker removed his hand.

“Can we maybe stay here,” I said, beyond content in his warm truck. “Maybe take a little nap?”

“Not a chance,” he said, turning off the engine.

“Mmmm,” I groaned, not moving, even when Parker got out of the truck and came around to my side. A blast of cold hit me as he opened the door. And as quickly as he’d brought me from Heritage Hill to climax, I was scooped out of the truck into his arms. Squealing, I reached behind his neck, holding on. “What are you…”

Kicking the door shut, Parker proceeded to carry me up the stairs of my house, only letting me down at the door. Laughing so hard I couldn’t find my keys, I thought for a second we might freeze to death.

“Got ’em.”

Once inside, I turned on a lamp and knelt down to light the fire, wishing for the millionth time it was electric.

“I got it,” Parker said, taking over.

Glad to let him, I scurried around, lighting candles and tidying up a bit. “Make yourself at home.”

“Nice place,” he said, finishing the fire and looking around casually as if he’d not just gotten me off on the five-minute ride here. Trying not to dwell on that, or this extreme need I had to be close to him again, to touch him like I’d wanted to do all night, I hung up my coat and asked if he wanted a drink.

“I’m good,” he said, picking up a picture from the fireplace mantel. “So this is the family?”

I headed back into my small but comfortable living room. “Yep. Mom, Dad, brother.”

“I know your mom is a dentist and father is an engineer, but what does your brother do? Is he married?”

“Nope. My mother worries it might never happen… Just turned thirty-five. He moved to Rochester for work, also an engineer like Dad, but mechanical. He’s currently living the work hard, play hard lifestyle.”

“I know a few guys like that.”

“Beck?”

“And Cole. Mason too until last year.” He put down the picture.

“I don’t think he’s as opposed to it as you guys are, bachelor pact and all. Just hasn’t found the right woman.”

“That pact,” he said as I walked toward him, “was just a silly college game.” Reaching for me, Parker pulled me into his arms.

“Seems like Beck still takes it seriously.”

He smoothed back my hair so it was completely off my face. Cupping my cheeks in his hands, Parker stared into my eyes.

“He’s not in any rush to settle down. Cole either.”
