“Hang on a minute, I’m mad at the both of you. You let me get kidnapped. Again!” I huffed in fake annoyance.

It wasn’t necessarily their fault, but I mean, come on. I could put up a fight if I want to.

Veylor's fingers worked methodically at the bands of his tunic, each one coming undone with deliberate slowness. His eyes never left mine as the fabric loosened. "That anger of yours... it's just for show, isn't it, pet?"

Oryx ripped off his pants with one swoop of his arms, the material ripping faster than the eye could see.

Oh, Shadow people help me.

“Why,” I purred. “Are you reading my mind again?”

Veylor pulled off his tunic, his gray skin glistening in the morning light. This was the most light I had seen on either of them. I couldn't help but stare at Veylor's glistening skin, the light casted a surreal glow over his features. It was a stark contrast to the usual dimness that surrounded us in the shadows.

Oryx, on the other hand, had his hand on his large cock, pumping it vigorously. Not a sense of sensuality at all.

Oryx pressed his forehead against Veylor's temple, a silent command that made Veylor turn toward him. Their faces came close, Oryx's tongue tracing a wet path from the hollow of Veylor's throat to the curve of his jaw before their tongues intertwined. As they devoured each other mere feet from where I sat, my skin prickled with heat, every inch of fabric against my body suddenly an unbearable constraint.

Oryx growled. “Our pet is hungry for us. Should we deprive her?”

I rubbed my legs together and crawled backwards on the bed. Oryx turned his massive skull toward me, his ears lay back on his head. “Where do you think you are going?”

Veylor waved his arm in front of Oryx and held him back. “Before we take our pet, there is one important task that needs to be dealt with.”

Oryx huffed in annoyance, his cock bobbed. Black come dripped to the floor and the shine of his arousal that coated him was evident.

Curses, I was already so wet.

I licked my lips and Veylor stood in front of Oryx’s growing problem. “We are bonding right now, bathing in the golden light of these mountains, and I will not have you two going at it and then Oryx spills his seed too early.”

I blinked back in surprise and stared up at both of them.

“Here? Now? My fathers are in the other room!”

High-pitched clings of pots and pans fell to the floor. Shouts of pleasure and names being called filled my ears. “Please shut the door.” I shook my head. “Even if I have just met them, I really can’t.”

Oryx shut the door, his tail swayed behind him. When he came back, his body faced Veylor who had an unreadable expression on his face.

“Vesper, do you remember when we made our agreement that I would not harm a hair on your head, otherwise you could take control of my heart? That meant you would take control over me, and my power?”

I tilted my head and slowly nodded. That was ages ago, why was he bringing it up now?

Veylor pressed his palm against Oryx's broad chest. Darkness pooled beneath his fingers, spinning into a vortex that deepened with each rotation. The swirling shadows carved what looked like an entrance into Oryx's flesh—a perfect void where solid form should be.

Oryx stood completely still, he was in full trust as Veylor’s hand descended into Oryx’s chest cavity. I covered my mouth in shock as I watched Veylor pull out a blackened heart.

The shadows stopped swirling and Oryx patted his chest to feel the firmness was still there. “Strange.”

That wasn’t even the weird part, Veylor walked to the head of the bed where I was and in his hand was an extra heart still beating. There wasn’t any blood, it just thumped like it was still in a body.

Please don’t ask me to hold it.

Veylor chuckled. “My pet doesn’t want to hold my heart, yet can sew up body parts with her eyes closed?”

I swallowed heavily. “That’s your heart? It’s been in Oryx this whole time?” Oryx sniffed at it.

Vaylor nodded. “He is practically indestructible.”

We were all silent for a time.
