“Two extra shots. I heard you had tequila last night. I also got two of the large orders of Jojos from the place across town. I can’t stand it. Are we okay? Please—”
“Yeah, we are. I knew even yesterday, that if you really knew or had a super strong suspicion, you would have said something to me. I just had to work through my insecurities and issues. You, above all, know how my mind works.”
He grabs me into a bear hug.
“I know, but the fucker is my cousin. I hated to think you might question where my loyalty was, when it willalwaysbe with you. I still can’t believe that bitch. You know I never was a big fan of hers, but now I wanna go find her and take every bit of silicone out of her.”
I squeeze him before I let him go.
“I think you might have to stand in line behind these three. Though I wasn’t joking about if she shows her face again, I’ll take her off my property by her hair. Enough about her, feed me, caffeinate me and all will be good in my world.”
I sit down and take a sip of mocha goodness. Caffeine really is a wonderful thing. I grab one of the bags and tear it open, taking out the plethora of sauces Nicky got.
“Shit, I haven’t had any Jojos in years,” Rory admits as he sits next to me.
“Well I’m happy to share some battered potato deliciousness. Before you ask, yes it’s a word.”
We all spend the next few minutes just enjoying the amazing potatoiness of the Jojos.
After we finish eating, Nicky has to head off to work and I’m going to head home for a day of reading, laundry and getting ready for the week. The guys plan to come by in the evening for dinner after they help out at a brother’s house who had a plumbing emergency happen this morning.
I wake up snuggled up to Tyger. Reaching behind me, I grab my phone off the nightstand. Looking at it I see I slept for a couple of hours. Thankfully, the concert in my head is gone. I think tequila and I are going to go our separate ways from now on.
I get up out of bed to let Tyger out and know I need to move the laundry and start dinner.
“Why is my door closed? Did you close it, Tyger?” I open it and go into the bathroom, taking care of business. “Alright boy, I’ll let you out for your turn.” As I’m opening the back door, something catches my eye. My dining room table is completely covered. In the middle are black roses and red poppies, all over the table, with a circle of what looks like white rose petals surrounding the edge of the table. Oh shit, oh shit. They were here while I slept.
Rory
When Jameson called, we knew he needed a couple of extra hands to fix the issue in this old house. I just crawled back out from the crawl space where one of two broken pipes at Millie’s house was and am now attempting to get all the dust off my shirt when my phone starts ringing.
“Hey, beautiful, wha—”
“They were in my house while I was asleep,” Jane tries to get out between sobs.
“What?”
I can hear her trying to stop her crying, which is making me itchy. Itchy to find this fucker and make sure he doesn’t see the sunset. I hate hearing her scared and crying.
“I was taking a nap, trying to get rid of my hangover. When I got up, my bedroom door was closed. I thought maybe Tyger somehow closed it ’cause he has before, but when I went to let him out, I saw my table was covered in flowers. They were in my house when I was here. Why is someone doing this to me?”
“Oh, beautiful, I don’t know, but we will figure this shit out. I’m on my way now. I’ll be there in less than ten.”
“Oh-oh, okay. Please hurry. This is freaking me the fuck out.”
“I will be there as fast as I can physically get there, my love.”
“Okay.”
As soon as she hangs up, I yell for my brothers. They both come hauling ass out of the house. I swear Jon looks me over for injuries before he opens his mouth.
“Why the fuck did you just yell like that?”
“Jane just called. She just woke up from a nap and went out into the living room and the fucker left a bunch of flower shit on the table. Whoever this fucker is wasinour woman’s house when she was fucking there. This needs to end now. I can’t handle her calling scared and crying. I’m going over there right now.”
“We’ll be right behind you. Just gonna grab our shit and let Jameson know.”
It takes me what feels like forever to get over to Jane’s place. As soon as I turn on her street, I see Tim leaning on his bike in front of the house. How in the fuck did someone get in if they were here?
