No more tummy bugs.
Giving me a big, big sigh, Daddy pouted and tried to look dramatic. “I’m not sure I like how much attention you gave that.”
“Oh well.” I shrugged. “You’re important. Sorry.”
Grumbling about the tummy bugs, Daddy huffed and puffed and got all silly. “Fine. I was slightly nervous.”
“Some people think stuff is weird. But it’s not.” Other stuff was weird. “I read books and I’m smart.”
And Terrence was good at explaining stuff.
“I’m glad you read books.” Trying to un-scrunch his face, Daddy shrugged. “I might’ve been a bit nervous but I knew it was important to tell you.”
Breeding was important but being a Daddy wasn’t?
Hmm.
“Thank you.” Since he’d been trying to be a good boy, he got another cheek kiss. “Good boys get rewards, so your reward is going to be happy touching.”
He wouldn’t pick out his own reward…we both knew it because we were smart.
Daddy tried not to laugh but his smile peeked out. “You’re a fascinating cutie, Trippy.”
“Yep.” Oh well. “Smart people are interesting. Everyone knows that.”
Nodding, Daddy chuckled. “And you are very smart.”
I’d been researching.
“Alright, we’ll come back to my reward after I finish your surprises.” Daddy didn’t look like he had tummy bugs anymore, so I knew we had a plan.
Daddy liked plans.
And I liked surprises.
“I’ve been very good.” Terrence said it was important to keep reminding Daddies about stuff like that. “Very good.”
Daddy’s eyes laughed even though he pinched his mouth together as he nodded. He was still feeling silly but I was glad he wasn’t worrying. Nope. We were all done with worries because he nodded. “Yes, you have been and that’s why I got you some special things.”
Oh.
I liked special.
“You have to promise to sit still while I get them, though.” Daddy gave me his serious face and wasn’t smiling even with his eyes. “If you fall, I won’t get out your surprises.”
No falling.
“Got it.” I snuggled my towel tighter and sat very still. “I’m careful.”
Most of the time.
Daddy glared at me but nodded. “Okay, I trust you.”
Oh.
Sneaky Daddy.
Now I had to be good…Terrence said so.
