Connor turned back. He spread his hands to either side. "Be my guest." He slammed his mask back over his face and stalked away.
I gave both Jacob and Henry a long look and a tentative smile before I followed Connor into the crowds.
I didn't want to be the cause of any friction, but I got the impression that existed long before I was on the scene. I knew Connor loved his father, but he wasn't giving up the business he was building with Riley. I hoped, in time, Jacob would accept that. And accept me in his son's life.

LEAH
We stayedat the party for around an hour while Connor seethed. Every so often, he glanced in his father's direction, eyes snapping. I managed to fit in a quick conversation with Whitney and Holly before Riley grabbed my hand.
"Let's get out of here," he said over the music. "Before Connor breaks an eyeball glaring at Jacob."
"Whose eyeball?" I asked but I let him drag me to the door.
"I was thinking his, but now you mention it…” Riley laughed.
The other three stood by the door, finishing off their drinks and placing their glasses down on a nearby table.
"Someone mentioned chasing you?" Brooks pushed his mask high enough to show me his grin.
"I don't know if that's a good—" I squealed as Riley ducked and picked me up, leaving me draped over his shoulder.
"No problem," he shouted and started out the door at a run. His arm was secure over my legs to keep me from jostling to much.
I laughed and watched the sidewalk blur as we raced down the street. "You're out of your mind!" I lifted my head to see the other three jogging along behind, exactly like something out ofa video. No rushing, just following. Knowing they were going to catch their prey and eat their fill.
At the end of the block, Riley slowed to a stop, carefully carrying me over the road to the other side. The other three slowed as well, stalking, their hands at their sides.
"Are you wet?" Riley asked.
"I've been wet for the last hour or two," I said. "Ever since I saw you with those masks on."
"I might never take mine off then," he said with a playful growl.
"I wouldn't be able to see your face if you don't." I put a pout in my tone.
"Awww, you like my face?" He glanced at me over his shoulder.
"I love your face," I said. "But aren't you supposed to be a crazed stalker right now?"
"I'm definitely crazed," he said with a chuckle. "Right now, I'm trying to work out if I can get into your place and lock the others out for the rest of the night. Then I can take my time licking every single centimetre of you, making you scream six or seven times."
My throbbing clit liked the idea, but I suspected the other three men would not.
"Connor would break a window to get in," I said.
"I knew he was an asshole.” Riley exhaled as though he was actually frustrated. "I should have taken you out the back door of the pub. We could have had a head start to a place I know near the top of the mountain. A little cabin. We could spend all night fucking in front of the fire."
"We can hear you, you know," Connor called out.
Riley flipped him off over his opposite shoulder. "We don't care."
"You will when we tie you down and force you to watch us fuck her," Connor said.
"I can't decide if that's a threat or a promise," Riley said.
"Both." Connor stepped past us to the front door of my place, sliding his key into the lock.
