"He has an oversized ego to go with his oversized cock," Riley said, joining in on the shit disturbing.

"If you're trying to offend me, maybe don't do it by giving me compliments." Connor sat back, looking even more smug.

"What am I going to do with you two?" I shook my head, but smiled.

"You can start by introducing us to Brooks," Riley said. "I want to meet the guy with the audacity to watch our woman getting herself off. And then I want him to watch while I get her off."

"I have no idea where he's staying," I admitted. "He's the one with the tracking device, not me."

"I'll put out feelers," Connor said. "Someone will know where he is. Do you have a picture of him?"

I frowned. "I can probably find one." Taking selfies with each other wasn't something we did. Ever. I pulled out my phone and looked at his social media feed. Frowned. "There should be a photo of him on here somewhere."

All I could find was a handful of pictures from home. A bridge here, squirrel there. Nothing personal and none of any people.

"I think his father has an account." I looked it up and started to scroll.

"What kind of relationship do you have with your stepfather?" Riley asked, clearly trying to be provocative.

I glanced up at him. "Nothing salacious. I can promise you that." I couldn't even remember him so much as giving me a hug, which suited me just fine. His was a radar I didn't care to be on. Strange that Brooks would say he wasn't on it either. Why would the family's golden boy not be noticed?

I looked back down at the phone, scrolling past photos of my mother, people he worked with, his sister and her kids. Finally, I found a photo of him and Brooks standing side-by-side right after he married my mother. They were both smiling, but neither looked happy.

There were no photos of me.

I turned the phone around to show the guys.

"He's kinda hot," Riley said.

Connor grudgingly grunted his agreement. "I'll keep an eye out for him." He saved the photo and sent a copy to himself and Riley. "We can show that around to folks. The grapevine will do the rest."

"Do me a favour and don't throw him in the lake," I said.

"I make no promises." Connor handed my phone back to me.

"I promise to wait until the lake is frozen enough to cut a hole in it," Riley said with a grin. "And drop him in."

"No murdering anyone," I warned both of them. As if I actually thought they were capable of something like that.

"He wouldn't be worth it," Connor said. "But I don't rule out strongly encouraging him to leave town."

"It didn't work on me," I pointed out.

He rolled his eyes. "You're stubborn as fuck."

"And?" I prompted.

"And… I didn't really want you to leave." He shrugged. "I wanted to see if you could stand up to me."

I gave a sceptical look. "Maybe you have that backward. I wanted to see if you could handle me." I raised an eyebrow at him in challenge.

He leaned in until we were almost nose to nose. "Honey, I can always handle you." He brushed his lips over mine.

"I knew I should have been more difficult." I wrinkled my nose but kissed him back.

He laughed, his breath warm on my mouth. "I don't see how you could have been more difficult. Isn't that your middle name? Leah Difficult Kent?"

"I thought it was Leah Fucking Kent," Riley offered.
