“Is that an order?”The corner of his mouth lifts up in that cute, irresistible way I like.

“Yes!”He kisses me once, and his phone rings.

“Every time we have sex,” he says with a sigh.

I brush my lips against his and gently nip on his bottom lip with my teeth.“From now on we’ll turn them off before we start.”

“That’s exactly what we’re going to do.I should see who that was.I left the damn thing in the living room.”

He kisses me again then moves down to my neck, sucking on the same spot he did yesterday.I slap at him.I do not need him to make the hickey he gave me more pronounced than it already is.

“Nick, stop it, you’re going to have me wearing turtlenecks and scarfs for a month.”

“I like to mark what’s mine, is that so wrong?”

“Yes.Your phone is ringing again, get out of me.”

“I can’t, you have me trapped between your beautiful legs.”

I unlock my legs from around his waist.“Now you’re free, go get it.I’ll get cleaned up while you’re gone.”

He eases out of me, and I wince a little.I try to hide it, but he’s not fooled. His eyebrows come together.

“I thought you were fine?”

“I’m a little sore, it’s to be expected. We’ve been engaging in a lot of activity my body is not used to, like you said, so it’s not surprising.”

He takes a breath.

“I’ll be fine.I’m not in any pain.Go check your messages. One of your clients could be in jail or something equally awful.”

“Okay.”He kisses me on the forehead and walks out in all his naked glory, putting a little smile on my face.Hands down, he has the best ass I’ve ever seen, chiseled dimples and all.

I’m lyingin bed under the blankets when he comes back.He gets in behind me, naked, pulling me close to him, his hand around my waist.

“Your brother called.”

I turn my head and look at him.“Chris?”

“He wanted to know if I spoke to you this weekend.”

“That’s the only reason he called you, to ask about me?”He called once yesterday and today.I didn’t tell Nick.

“No, he wanted to talk to me about some other things too.He said he hasn’t heard from you since you sent him a text on Friday. He said he called you, and it went to voice mail, and it’s not like you to send a text like that and not call anyone for days.”

I turn back around and sigh.

“Why didn’t you talk to him?”

“I didn’t want to lie to him.Sending him a text saying I’m spending the weekend with a friend is one thing.Tomorrow is soon enough to deal with my family. What did you tell him?”

“I told him the truth.”

I swing my head around staring at him in disbelief.“What?”I hope he didn’t do that.

“I told him I talked to you and you sounded fine to me, you told me you’d be back home tomorrow, you were visiting a friend for the weekend.”

“Oh.”I turn back around relieved.“Do you think he knows?”
