He glared daggers at Will who had a short-sleeve shirt on and sunglasses that gave him the ultimate bad boy vibe. It was obvious Kai knew exactly what we were up to.
Will only smirked at Kai in response, not feeling the least bit guilty. Theo was chuckling as I approached her and she gave me a thumbs up behind Kai’s back. I could only laugh in response.
We climbed into Kai’s truck, which Will ultimately drove due to the former’s injuries. Theo, Violet and I lined the back seat as we made our way to the only grocery store in town.
It felt nice to be home and spending time with Kai. Theo and I would always have the small town ways with us. You could hear it in our mild hick accents and see it in the way we approached the world. Kai was a small town boy through and through.
Will, however, looked so out of place it was hilarious.
