Thankfully, I inherited my mother's business after she passed. Although I don't want to have anything of hers in my name, I am getting money from it and it will help me in the future.
All I do is sit back and watch the money grow.
Although she was a bitch, she was smart and ended up inventing some website for teaching kids which is ironic considering the past she and I had.
People were hungry for whatever she had to say. That website has got to be her stupidest idea to make money, yet she was drowning in it.
But at the same time she spent all of that money on drugs and when she needed more, well that's where I came in.
I plan on changing her business when I finish my degree because this business and the money I am getting from her should be from something important and valuable, not worthless and fake.
“What can I do for you father?” I ask, walking past him and going to my kitchen.
“Jolie said she saw you at that diner I told you to stay away from, last week,” my father states.
“Okay, so I'm not allowed to eat with friends?”
I grab water from the fridge and take a moment to look at my father.
Levi Jones is one of the most successful lawyers in New York. He has burned all of the other lawyers out of the state, well, except for one.
“Yes, but she told me she saw you were with Cal Madden's kid.”
Fuck.
“What about her?” I raise an eyebrow at my father.
He hates Cal Madden's guts. I hate Cal Madden's guts too.
I can't fucking stand that guy and the fake persona he puts on. My father told me about how he threatened to destroy our family.
And Ariella Madden is his fucking daughter which made everything worse.
When I met her I knew nothing between us was going to end well because she is just like her father. I didn't see it until I figured out who she was.
Her father ruined everything for me and my father and I have never hated Cal Madden so much.
“You know what you are supposed to do, Ash. Destroy her. Her father is a menace and the only way we can destroy him is through her.”
Part of my brain, the one that is irrational and only thinks with the dick, wants to forget about what my father is telling me and go back to Ariella. But then the other side of my brain, the one that is calculated and cold, the one who knows what we should be doing, wants to destroy Ariella and most of all her father.
My father wants to destroy Cal because he threatened to put me away. I also want to destroy him, but through Ariella.
It's just more fun that way.
“I am. You just have to be patient.”
“Either you deal with it or stay the fuck out of it and leave her alone to let me handle it,” my father threatens.
I'm not scared of him. I might be grateful for what he has done in the past but I for sure don't give a single fuck about his threats. I have thought about anything he could hit me with and I am prepared for the day I disappoint him.
It will be one of the best days of my life right after the death of my mother.
“Don't worry. As I said, be patient. Ruining someone takes time.” I take a sip of my water and then put it on the countertop. “Other than trying to ruin lives, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in New York?” I raise my eyebrow as I lean against the counter.
“I have a few meetings here that I need to take care of and then I plan on going back to New York for a little bit and then come back for more meetings.”
“What meetings?”
