"So,what should we do first? Huntington Beach? Santa Monica pier?" Thalia asks as we get inside of the car.
We landed in California around an hour or two ago. Rowan had to drop me off after we landed because he had to see his brother. I asked if I could come with him, but he said that I should stay at the house or hangout with Thalia.
I really wanted to be with Rowan, and he knew that too because after he said I couldn't come with him, he kissed me and promised that we would hang out when he came back.
For an hour, my dad and I caught up and he asked me how Italy was. I signed to him; I couldn't talk to him even though I tried.
I really did.
I only feel comfortable talking to Rowan but for some reason I have a good feeling that soon I'll be able to talk to my dad and the other people I love.
I also caught up with my mom and she is feeling much better. I left my father’s office when Ace and Aria came in because I had a feeling they needed to discuss business.
I don't want to get involved in the whole mafia business and my parents know that and respect my decision of wanting to work as a special needs teacher. I just don't think I'll be able to handle seeing so many deaths in one day or handling all of that.
Thalia is different though. She loves that kind of stuff and working with Ace. I know that she wanted to beDonna, but she is thinking about just giving the role to Killian so that she can focus on Landon, which I understand.
Killian just didn't care if he would be getting the role or not.
He doesn't really care about anything now that I think about it.
I texted Thalia,
Let's go to Huntington. It's probably really busy at the pier.
"That's a good idea. We don't like people anyways," Thalia says, which makes me smile a little bit. I have been doing that more often. "I love seeing you smile. You need to do it more often." I almost laugh when she says it. "I'm being serious. I think it's because of Rowan." I raise my eyebrow at her, and she just looks at me. "I'm being dead serious. Ever since you started hanging out with him more, your smile is brighter and I am seeing it more and more. I like seeing you smile and happy." I don't say anything to her. I can't tell her or anyone until my dad knows because then he will get Rowan in trouble, and I don't want him to get in trouble. "You don't have to admit it, I already know."
I sink further into the passenger seat and look out the window, trying to hold in a smile.
Rowan is unlike anyone I have ever met. I'm grateful to have met him and have him in my life. He made me start loving life again and seeing the world in more colors than black and white.
The way he makes me feel is like a dream; I’m afraid of someday waking up and it will all be over. Everyday instead of thinking about the unknown man that night, I think about Rowan and how he makes me feel.
I almost feel loved.
I wonder if he feels the same way I feel about him.
"Can you stop thinking about how Rowan looks with his clothes off?" Thalia says, making me get out of the trance I am in and look at her with a raised eyebrow. "I'm being serious. Focus on your best friend and you can focus on the sexy bodyguard you have later." I shake my head lightly and smile at her. "We are going to eat first and then we can go down to the beach, okay?" Thalia looks at me and I nod my head at her which makes her smile.
When we get to the restaurant that we always eat at when we are here, she parks the car on the side and then cuts the engine.
We both get out and then walk into the restaurant.
"Thalia!" I hear a familiar voice yell making me look at who it is. "Oh Jane!"
I see Marsha with a big smile on her face as she walks towards Thalia and I. When she walks up to us, she wraps her arms around us, and we hug her back.
Marsha is the owner of the restaurant we are in. She knows us very well because one time when Thalia was visiting for her birthday, she and I decided to come here and sneak some drinks from the bar. Marsha found us, drunk and laughing our asses off at some random shit. She took us home and gave us her number. She later on texted saying thank you for giving her the best night of her life. Ever since then we just started going to her restaurant every time Thalia would visit.
"It's so good to see you, Marsha," Thalia says as she hugs Marsha. "How are you?"
"I’m good. Thank you for asking." Marsha lets go of us. "Haven't seen you girls in forever. How is little Landon?"
"Landon is good. He is at home with my mom."
"That’s nice. How are you girls?" Marsha looks between the two of us.
"We're good. Just hungry for some great food." Thalia raises her eyebrows at Marsha, making her laugh.
