I notice that there is a window in the room, so I stand up and walk towards the window. I see Dante with two other guys, they were different guys when I first got here. I look at the clock that is above the door and see it is 2:15 p.m.
It's only been a few hours since I got here.
That's good.
I can work with that.
I walk towards the door but when I try to turn the knob it is locked. I had a feeling it would be. I take the bobby pin that I hide in the back of my hair.
As I try to unlock the door, the door handle wiggles and then it opens. I back away from the door as it opens wide and Dante walks in.
He has a smile on his face, of course. Every time I see him, he always has a smile on his face, and it annoys me every time. But when he doesn't have a smile on his face, that's when I get really scared.
"Dante," I mutter and then lean my back against the wall behind me.
I don't bother looking for my gun because I know he took it from me.
But he doesn't know that I have a knife in the waistband of my pants.
"Baby," Dante smiles as he closes the door behind him. "How did you sleep?"
"Like a baby."
"You look good," Dante comments while looking at me from head to toe.
I almost throw up from him doing that.
"Well, when I'm not being hit every day or abused, I tend to look better," I remark and I see Dante's hands clench.
"Baby, that was all your fault. I offered you so much, but you wanted to make things harder for yourself. All I did was love you and care for you."
"How many times are you going to try and convince me that you really do love and care for me? You said that so many times, but your actions speak louder than words."
"Because you are always so fucking difficult, Aria. I try my best to be the best version of myself for you and I have, but you just keep fucking around with me and making things harder. I just want us to be happy, Ari."
"Fuck you," I spit. "You just wanted a trophy girlfriend who will kneel to you. I'm not that girl, Dante."
"No!" Dante walks closer to me as he yells. "I wanted you to be mine and guess what Aria, you are! Even if you still think you love that Italian asshole, you love me! Not him!"
"I will never love you," I say as tears form in my eyes. "Everything you did to me was to make yourself better. You never cared about me." I push myself off the wall and start walking closer to him. "You never loved me." Dante's hands clench into fists, and I see his jaw tick. "And I will never ever be yours." Dante's fist then flies out and connects with my face making me turn my head to the side. I then taste copper as I lick my lips. I turn my face and look back at Dante. "You punch like a fucking girl."
"By the time you leave this room, you will never question who you belong to," Dante says at the same time I hear bullets go off outside.
I stand up to go look at the window, but I feel a tug on my hair pulling me back. I turn around and swing my fist to connect with Dante's face. He moves back a little and lets go of my hair. I quickly take out the knife I have in my waistband and turn towards Dante.
"You’re dead, Dante," I say as I walk closer to him.
"You won't do shit," Dante chuckles. "You're weak. Always have been Aria. I taught you to be better and you are better because of me."
"That was all part of the process, Dante." I throw my knife towards him, hitting his eye. He screams out in pain as blood drips from his face. He tries to get the knife out, but I walk up to him and kick him in the stomach before getting the knife out. He falls to the floor, and I lift the knife and start to continuously stab it into his chest while screaming. "Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you!" I say as tears roll down my face. "I hate you, I hate you!" His body stops fighting against me and instead, he loosens his grip on my arms as I continue to stab him. "You ruined me!" I yell.
I stop stabbing him when I feel hands touch my shoulders. I turn around only to see Ace as I point the knife towards him.
He has his hands raised while he stands in front of me.
"You're okay, amore," Ace says softly as he walks closer to me slowly. "He's dead. For good."
"I killed him," I say as more tears stream down my face. "I killed Dante."
