It's the only mission I have failed and the only mission I need to complete.
I open the door to the building, and it makes a loud screeching sound. I grab hold of the gun I took from Ace's office, and I pull it out of my waistband and aim it low, getting ready to shoot if I need to.
Inside is just as dirty as the outside. It smells bad in here as well. I notice dry blood on the floor and there are a lot of broken chairs and other furniture in the building along with some crates and boxes.
Out of all places, why would Dante choose to stay here? I get he is trying to keep it lowkey but goddamn.
I get closer to the voices that are talking softly. I hear laughs as I am getting closer.
I turn the corner and I see him.
Dante is talking to one of these guys while smiling and laughing at what one of them said.
How does he still have men on his side? I thought Ace and Alex killed his men.
I need to shoot him.
But I want to make him suffer, like how he made me suffer.
Before I have time to do anything, Dante turns his head and stops laughing when he sees me.
He whistles before saying, "Aria, Aria, Aria." The guys next to him turn their heads to look at me.
I walk out from the corner and raise my gun to point towards Dante. "Take everything out of your pockets," I say and the guys next to him are raising their eyebrows at me and they chuckle softly.
"Yo, Dante, who is this chick?" One of the guys pats Dante's chest as Dante and the guys do nothing but stand and watch me walk closer towards them.
"My girl. Now play nice boys. She's a feisty one," Dante jokes and he smirks at me as I still point the gun at him.
"I'm not your fucking girl," I sneer. "You’re dead, Dante."
"Is that why you came here? No hello kiss?"
"Hell no." I almost laugh. I walk a step closer and hold my finger against the trigger. "You're done, Dante."
"No baby. You won't kill me."
"You think I won't kill you?"
"Baby, I know you. You won't kill me because you still love me."
"As if. You’re fucking crazy if you think that," I argue. "You ruined me."
"I made you better. Look at how strong you are because of me."
"No," I say as I tighten my grip on the gun.
"You were weak before you met me. During All Assassins Academy, you didn't know how to do a lot of things and I made you better. I helped you become the better version of yourself, Ari."
"Stop it." Tears form in my eyes as I hear everything he is saying.
"I made you the assassin every crime group wants."
A piece of cloth covers my mouth at the same time I pull the trigger of the gun. But I feel myself grow too tired to focus on the shot.
I close my eyes, seeing nothing but darkness and wishing for someone to save me.
