As I am messaging the French leader, Arthur, I hear crying on the baby monitor.

We have baby monitors all around the house just so we can hear when Thalia is crying and see if anything is bothering her.

I increased our security all over the house and also inside Thalia's room.

The windows and doors in her room are locked with a keypad-operated lock. Only I know the lock combination and Aria has her thumb print. I also have sensors in her room so that I know when something is there.

I get up from my chair and walk out of my office towards Thalia room.

The office is downstairs, so I have to walk past the living room to go upstairs to where all the bedrooms are.

In the living room, I see Layna with Cole and when I walk past them, they give me a sympathetic look, but I don't need that.

I don't want that.

Layna asks if I wanted her to get Thalia, but I told her no because Thalia is my child and my responsibility.

I unlock Thalia's door and get inside.

Thalia's room is dark and a little cold when I walk inside.

I change the temperature to be warmer and I also turn the lights on before I go towards where Thalia is, who is still crying.

Her eyes are open, making me see her beautiful green eyes that look just like mine. Her cheeks are a little damp from crying.

I reach inside the crib and pick her up while wincing because her weight is too much for my shoulder, but I can handle it.

"Heyprincipessa,” I mumble and switch her over to my other arm so that I can hold her properly. "You're okay. You're all right," I assure her while she keeps crying. This is what this week has been like. Thalia crying and me being stressed out because whenever Thalia cried before, Aria would go in and take care of her which made Thalia stop crying immediately. But for me, it's always a mission to get her to stop crying. She eventually stops but it's still so stressful. "I promise I'm going to get your mom back. I will not stop until I have her in my arms, Thalia," I promised her.

And I'm going to keep that promise.

PAST

I dropmy bag on my desk before going towards my bed and sitting down. I lay on my back and stare up at the ceiling.

I just came back from the gym with Dante. At first, things were going great but then I saw him staring at another girl at the gym the entire time we were there. I ended up asking him if we could go home because I didn't want to see him checking out another girl in front of me.

The whole entire ride home was tense, and I asked him about the girl he was staring at, but he ended the conversation and said we would talk at home. I didn't say anything else for the rest of the ride.

I have been thinking about just ending it with him lately, but I didn't have any valid reason until now since I know for a fact he did something wrong.

The love between Dante and I just isn't there anymore.

I close my eyes, wanting to escape for a little bit.

Just for a minute.

I want to forget about him checking out that other girl.

I hear my bedroom door open, making me open my eyes and lift my head to see Dante walk inside. "Hi." I smile at him as he closes the door. Dante's jaw clenches as he leans against the wall and stares at me. "What's wrong?" I furrow my eyebrows at him and sit up so that I am not laying down anymore.

"I should be asking you that."

I want to nip my bottom lip, but I don't. Instead, I rub my hands on my thighs to get rid of the sweat that is starting to form. "I just didn't feel comfortable watching you stare at another girl while we were working out together."

"Jesus fucking Christ, Aria," Dante mumbles and he looks down at the floor and shakes his head.
