A lot like my life is about to change.
Chapter 147
Tilda
My phone rings.
I wanted to turn it off. Because I knew he’d call. I knew Ethan would find me missing, and he’d call.
I wipe at my cheeks, then reach over and send him to voicemail as my GPS tells me to take the next left.
As soon as I’m on the main road, I’ll turn my phone off.
It rings again.
Just Tell Him You Love Himflashes across the screen.
I take the turn, recognizing where I am, then I reach over and power off my phone.
Chapter 148
Ethan
I knockmy elbow into my dresser as I yank jeans up my legs.
Tilda rejected my call, and now it just goes to voicemail.
I want to text her, but she’s driving. Wherever the fuck she’s going, she’s driving. And that truck she drives is too fucking old to read her texts to her.
Gritting my teeth, I drag a flannel off its hanger and shove my arms through the sleeves.
I don’t know what’s going on, and I fucking hate it.
I dial her again as I stride down the hall.
It doesn’t go through.
Tilda seemed good during dinner. Great, even.
I can’t think of any reason for her to leave.
The hospital option slams back into my mind.
Grabbing my keys, I step into the garage and open the overhead door.
I climb into my truck and turn it on.
I need to do something. Have to go after her. Help her. Whatever is happening. But I need to know where to go.
I open my GPS and typehospitalinto the map search.
Tilda wouldn’t know where to go, so this is what she would do.
But she wouldn’t turn her phone off.
I don’t know…
A notification shows up on my screen.
