I wonder if he feels it too because he begins to fuck me with abandon, as though if he burrows inside me deep enough, he might be able to stay there forever. When he puts my ankles in a single hand, he uses the other hand to slide two fingers on either side of my clit. The sensation is divine.
“Dean … I’m … going … to come,” I chatter through his ruthless thrusts.
“Cream all over me, kitten. Drown me in your cum.” He forces each word through gritted teeth, intensifying his movements until we both cry out in release.
Dizziness has me floating on choppy waters. Warm, radiant, bubbly water. I swear I see an entire galaxy of colors behind my closed eyelids.
Dean has well and truly rocked my world.
He eases my legs down, then rests his weight besidemine, his large frame angled over me. “Guess we need a shower now before the movie.”
“Mmm…” I’m incapable of speech.
I feel, rather than see, him smiling above me.
“I’ll get the water running. You wait here,” he gently teases. When he returns, I’m still in la-la land. He lifts me bridal style, finally drawing me back to life.
“Oh!” I wrap my arms around his shoulders and notice the snow raging outside the window as he crosses to my bathroom. “There’s nothing better than a white Christmas,” I muse wistfully.
“If it gets bad enough, I don’t think I’ll have to go in to work.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, command will drop numbers to a skeleton crew. But if it’s that bad, the city may be shut down for days.” He sets me down in the bathroom. I keep my hands wrapped around the back of his neck, my sated body flush with his.
“Well, in that case, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.”
“I couldn’t have said it better myself.”
EPILOGUE
SACHI
Record snowfall shutdown the city for three full days. New York hadn’t seen a storm like that in fifty years. While that meant I got to spend Christmas Day with Dean, it also meant I didn’t get to see my friends, so we decided to all get together on New Year’s Day. Today.
It’ll be the first time Dean has been around the guys since the showdown at Amelie’s place.
On top of that, Dani’s Mom and Gran are coming, too. It’s brunch with the full crew, and I have no idea how it’ll all unfold. I told Dean he didn’t have to come. He worked New Year’s Eve, so I know he’s going to be exhausted, buthe insisted. To use his words, what good does it do to make the city safer if it means abandoning the people who mean the most to me?
Sending me to brunch on my own isn’t exactly abandonment, but I appreciate his desire to be with me at a time that’s important to me. Even if it’s for something as seemingly simple as brunch.
My heart works double-time as I walk in the chilly morning air toward the restaurant where we’re all meeting. Mounds of white snow can still be seen in places, but mostly, it’s turned into a sludgy brown mess. It was pretty while it lasted.
I’m the first to arrive at the quaint little bistro Amelie suggested. Early isn’t usually my thing, but I was too excited to wait at home. I have to wonder if Dean feels the same when he’s next to arrive with a coffee in hand.
“Hey, baby. How’re you feeling?” I lift onto my toes to meet him in a kiss, his adoring gaze burning off the rest of the morning chill.
“All good, though I’m not sure why I feel like I’m meeting your father for the first time.”
I laugh. “Glad I’m not the only one. It’s strange since it’s not like you don’t already know these guys.”
“Yeah, but I never cared what they thought before.”
“You do now?”
“Of course. They mean a lot to you. That means they’re important to me.” He leans in and gives meanother quick kiss while I melt into a gooey puddle on the floor.
“You get any sweeter, and I’m gonna get a toothache,” I tease.
