Mmm…
I lick my suddenly parched lips.
Dean leans in close to my ear. “You do realize you just broadcasted every last thought that passed behind your expressive eyes. You’re definitely going on Santa’s naughty list.”
“Do you think he’ll cuff me for being bad?” If it wouldn’t make me look a smidge crazy, I’d take a look around to see where that saucy statement came from because I know it can’t be me.
And the hunger in my raspy voice? Where did this sexy vixen come from, and can I keep her?
Dean’s hand releases mine before cupping the back of my neck, his entire body going stiff. “Careful, kitten. You’re adding to an already …sensitivesituation.”
The realization that I’m arousing this gorgeous man beyond the point of his control intoxicates me. I want more. Ineedmore. So much so that I don’t have the capacity to overthink my actions. The only thing on my mind is getting more of Dean.
I allow my body to drift lazily across his, reveling in the feel of his hardening length as it grazes my lower belly.
“Then maybe we should leave,” I suggest in a breathy whisper.
Holy shit, I can’t believe it.
I did it.
I just offered myself up for a night of what promises to be off-the-charts sex with a man Ihardly know. Never have I ever been so forward or brazen. Nor have I ever been so grateful. I want this man.
I want to be his for the night. I want it so badly that I’m a tangled knot of every emotion possible as I wait for his response.
Just one perfect night.
That’s all I’m asking…
CHAPTER 4
DEAN
Then maybe we should leave.
I can hardly believe my own ears.
This breathtaking, captivating woman wants me to take her home and do wicked things to her. She’s offered herself to me, and I’m more than ready to take whatever she’s willing to give.
My hand tightens reflexively around the back of her neck.
“Your place or mine?” As if I would pass up this opportunity.
Forget the party.
I made my appearance, so my boss can hardly complain. The rest of the night is mine to enjoy. And goddamn, am I going to devour every minute.
“Yours.” Her answer bears a slight tremble, and I wonder if it’s nerves or excitement. Probably both.
While I’m not nervous, the fire in my blood definitely has me on edge.
I take her hand and spin us toward the exit.
I can’t believe my luck that this divine creature was here alone and stumbled right into my path. Like we were meant to find one another. It’s ridiculous. I don’t believe in fate, but the course of events tonight makes a man wonder.
The second we’re beyond the ballroom, I whirl around and seize her lips with mine. It’s what I’ve desperately wanted to do since first laying eyes on her. I couldn’t wait another minute, and the taste of her is just as heady as I suspected. Champagne laced with strawberries and mint—sweet with a tangy edge—the same as her.
She meets each stroke of my tongue with one of her own.
