We were both quiet as Baz packed the last of the luggage and then pulled out of the hotel driveway.
“Anyone would think we smell,” I mumbled.
He turned to face me once again. “Why?”
“Because everyone but us and Baz are sitting up the back of the bus.”
“Well, it can’t be me. I smell like coconut oil, and you …” He leaned forward and sniffed my shoulder, the tip of his nose grazing my skin ever so slightly.
It sent a tingle up and down my spine.
“You smell like …”
“Like what?”
“Like a triple chocolate, choc chip, choc fudge ice cream.”
Lucas licked his lips and I all but spontaneously combusted in my seat.

Our first showon theSunshine Coast wasn’t until tomorrow evening, so much to Corinne’s delight, I suggested we detour to the Big Pineapple for lunch before checking in at the hotel.
“Here we are,” Baz said, cutting the engine to the bus. “The Big Prickly Fucker.”
Cori jumped out of her seat. “BigPineapple, Baz.”
“Actually, it’s Big Ananas Comosus,” Lucas added, quietly.
I narrowed my eyes at him. “What? Why?”
“Because that’s the scientific name.”
“How do you know this stuff?”
“Discovery Channel.”
“It’s not as big as I thought it would be,” Cori said as she walked past us and stopped to look out of the windscreen.
Noah and Josh followed her, Noah clapping Josh on the back. “Said that before, she has.”
Johnno, Patsy, Dex, and Lucas laughed. Even I chuckled.
“It’s even bigger!” Cori added, bounding off the bus, oblivious to what the men were insinuating.
Josh just smirked at them all and followed her.
Lucas and I rose from our seats, and he stepped back like a gentleman and gestured I go before him. “After you.”
I smiled. “Thank you.”
He smiled back, but as I walked along the aisle, I felt his body close behind mine, his warmth heating me instantly.
“So you think I should go with a nerd-themed routine?”
I quickened my pace and stepped off the bus. “Yes. Like I said on the way here, I think a sexy geek/boy-next-door type would work really well. You know … chunky, black-rimmed reading glasses, white shirt … suspenders.”
“I like it.”
