Emma’s hips lifted slightly, but Vanessa pinned her down with a look. “Patience.”

Emma nodded and bit her lip, aware of just how much Vanessa loved the obedient side of her.

Vanessa took her time as she tasted her wife slowly, alternating between gentle flicks and languid strokes. Every now and then, she would dip lower, teasing Emma towards the edge, but she wouldn’t allow her to tip. Every time Emma got close, Vanessa pulled back just enough to leave her trembling.

“O-oh, I—” Emma’s thighs started to quiver, her hands trembling as she gripped the sheet tighter and gasped. “Please, Madam…”

Vanessa looked up at her as she licked her lips. “Mm. You’re aching for it, aren’t you?”

“Y-yes.” Emma nodded frantically, her eyes wide. “I need it.”

“Not yet.” Vanessa stood and leaned down to kiss Emma. Nothing would ever be as beautiful as watching her wife taste herself on Vanessa’s lips. “Lie down. Arms above your head.”

Emma obeyed instantly, stretching out across the bed, her chest rising and falling as she lifted her hands and assumed the position.

Vanessa climbed onto the bed and straddled her, ran her hands slowly up Emma’s arms, and fastened the cuffs around the bed. Her other hand trailed down between Emma’s breasts, over her stomach, and down to her soaked pussy. “You feel so ready for me.” Vanessa stroked gently, two fingers sliding back and forth over her clit, light and teasing until Emma writhed beneath her. “Oh, baby,” Vanessa whispered. “You need to come.”

“P-please.”

“I just need to hear one thing from you.”

Emma whimpered. “Anything.”

“Say you forgive yourself.”

Emma tensed beneath Vanessa, her bottom lip trembling. “I don’t know how.”

Vanessa leaned down and kissed her again. “Then say you’re trying.”

“I-I—” Emma tugged at the restraints, her eyes closing when Vanessa applied a little more pressure. “I’m trying.”

Vanessa dipped her head towards Emma’s ear and smiled. “Now…ask me.”

“Please may I come, Madam?” Vanessa eased two fingers inside Emma, her walls tightening the moment she slid deeper. Emma cried out, her body arching off the bed, her hips meeting every thrust. Vanessa pressed the heel of her hand to Emma’sclit, and her wife fell apart around her fingers. “Oh, fuck.” Emma’s hands fisted in the cuffs as she rode out her orgasm, her body shaking yet relaxing into the mattress as her lips parted and her head lolled back against the pillow. “Shit.”

Vanessa reached up and flicked the clasp on the handcuffs, freeing Emma as she eased down beside her. She pulled Emma into her arms, soothing a hand up and down her back. “I’ve got you.”

Emma’s breath came in broken pants as she pressed her face to Vanessa’s shoulder. “Thank you.”

“You don’t ever have to do any of this alone, baby.” Vanessa drew back and kissed Emma’s forehead. “Never. Okay?”

Emma said nothing. She simply tightened her arms around Vanessa and relaxed. Vanessa stroked her hair, her own worries surrounding everything finally subsiding long enough for her to breathe. But no matter what, she would carry Emma through this for however long it took.

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Determinedto have a better dayanda better week, Emma straightened her shoulders and strode through the main foyer of the school, her trainers thudding lightly against the polished floor. The morning chatter buzzed around her—expected for a Monday morning—while students darted past with books clutched to their chests. But Emma stayed focused, grounding herself in the familiar rhythm of the building she knew so well.

She’d spent the weekend wrapped up in Vanessa, the two of them cocooned in the comfort of their shared world filled with love and support. They’d even managed a few light-hearted hours with Daisy and Lauren, the first laughter Emma had truly felt since Freya had shattered her reality the week before. Now, she was walking forward with quiet resolve, hoping that if she just kept moving—one foot, then the other—everything might just find its place.

Providing it was of benefit to Freya, of course.

If the past week had taught her anything, it was that control was a fantasy. Emma had always wanted to believe she could shape her own destiny, that she could muscle through the unexpected with sheer will and determination alone, but life had a cruel way of snatching that control away just when she thoughtshe had it. Still, she had to believe in something. And right now, she was choosing to believe that Freya’s happiness, safety, and sense of belonging mattered more than any ideal outcome Emma could conjure up in her mind.

“Oh, Emma!”

She looked up, startled from her thoughts, where she stood at the bottom of the staffroom stairs. Ellie Hamilton, the head teacher, was peering down with her usual pleasant smile and the same cool composure she always carried with such confidence.

“Hi, Ellie. Nice weekend?”
