Catherine chuckles.
She’s a single mom now after separating from her husband, and I don’t think she’s slept with anyone else yet.
I need to make her my wing-woman.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”Emily looks hurt.
“It only happened last Friday,” I add.“It’s nothing.”
“It’s not nothing.You’re my best friend, and you slept with my future husband’s best friend.”
Well, when you look at it like that, now I feel like a complete fool.I really need her to understand it means nothing.All week I’ve worked hard to be professional and make sure my job is secure.
