“You know what I mean.”
“Of course I do.” Sebastian shakes his head. “Tony and I had an agreement. The one thing I asked of him was no cheating. That’s why I kicked him out.”
“I get that. I just don’t see how I’m any different.”
“I know who and what you are. You haven’t lied to me or betrayed me. I’ve felt better with you today than I have in years. Besides, the horse has left the barn at this point. I didn’t want Tony cheating because I didn’t want people gossiping. Tony’s a party planner, and he knows every gossip in town. If anyone still hasn’t heard, it’s because they’re in a coma.”
Wow. Okay.
“You could change your mind. The two of you might work things out.” For some reason, those words give me heartburn. It’s been a long day, that’s all.
“If I thought so, I wouldn’t be here with you. When I decide something, I don’t change my mind. I’ve never been more certain of anything than when I walked into that room and told him to go.”
The breath I blow out feels oddly like relief. Fuck.
Simon, you are so fucked.
Deep breaths are relaxing. That’s what I’m doing.
I glance at my Jeep, the only other car in the lot. It’s wet from the latest afternoon thundershower, but no worse off than before. Given that I left it overnight, I’m lucky they didn’t have it towed.
I don’t know why it hasn’t moved. I don’t know why I haven’t, either.
Time to rip off the bandage. “Thanks for the ride,” I say with forced cheer. “And for everything else.” My reluctance is confusing, but I don’t intend to give it any airtime.
Sebastian’s phone pings again. He reaches for it with one hand, but when I go to open the door, his other hand lands on my leg.
“Don’t go yet,” he says. “I have to take this, but don’t go. Please.”
That “please” makes me relax back into my seat. His voice sounds so raw. I get the feeling Sebastian isn’t the kind of guy who uses that word often.
“Hey, Lehman,” he answers.
His gaze flicks to mine, and he gives me a tight smile. I’d feel worse about my obvious eavesdropping, but I’m less than a foot away, so what else will I do? Plug my ears and sing? Jerk off?
Okay, that one’s tempting.
“You said tomorrow.”
He glances my way again. Something tells me our unplanned day might have put a kink in his work situation somehow.
Haha. Kink.
Speaking of… I think back to earlier in the day and the night before, and I can’t help but get turned on again. In all my wild experiences, I’ve never met a guy who could work my body so perfectly.
I hold eye contact while I press my back against the seat and ease my zipper down. His eyes widen, but that’s the only way I can see him react.
“I’ll be in as soon as I can. Yes, I know it’s important. I’m the one who told you we needed to—no. I’m in the car right now. Yeah. Fine.”
Sebastian’s eyes narrow, and I can’t help but grin while I pull my dick out and give it a stroke. When I bite down on my lower lip, his hard swallow is loud enough to echo in the car. We may be in a public place, and he may be on the phone, but it feels like our own private moment right now.
“Lehman, I hear you. We can discuss the budget when I get there.”
There’s a little “hmm” that comes out of my throat as I stroke faster. It’s not loud enough for the guy on the other end to hear, but it is enough that I can see the effect it has on Sebastian. The way his fingers tighten around the phone. The tick in his jaw. The tent he’s pitching in his expensive pants.
There’s so much wrong with being this turned on for a married man who recently threatened to have me arrested. I know. The wrongness feels so good, though.
“Lehman, I’ll have to call you back.”
