I hear unfamiliar voices, a girl laughing, a dog’s playful bark. Someone else is coming up along the path. I straighten from the tree, try to dodge away from him, but his fingers dig into my belly and crowds me against the trunk at my back.

“Jeremiah,” I say, my hands going to his forearm, “come on, people are—”

“You think I give a fuck about people?” he asks me, lips tugging up into a smile. He brings the granola bar into view, running it over my lips. “Open your fucking mouth, Sid.”

The voices grow louder, the dog yelping again.

Jeremiah doesn’t even blink. Instead, he drags his hand over my belly, slips his fingers up my shirt.

I bite my lip, my skin growing ever hotter with his touch.

I hear Nicolas calling out our names, but of course, Jeremiah ignores him.

Deflating, my stomach growling, I finally give in, opening my mouth.

Jeremiah groans, dipping his brow to mine. He places the granola bar between my lips and just as I go to bite down, he clicks his tongue.

“Did I tell you you could eat yet?” he taunts me, his eyes on my mouth.

My blood heats, my heart pounding too fast in my chest. I suck in a breath, inhale the sweet scent of granola and chocolate. “Jeremiah,” I beg him, playing into his game for once. “Please let me.”

“Mmm,” he says, the hand under my shirt rising higher, those voices growing louder. He pushes his thigh between my legs, and I gasp. “I like when you beg me, baby. Go ahead,” he turns his head, drags his mouth over my cheek, to my ear. “Take a bite.”

I do, clenching my teeth around the bar as his fingers come to the underside of my sports bra, then slip under that too as I gasp again, his thigh pressing harder between my legs.

I hear the voices right behind him now, laughter too, then it dies off, abrupt and I have no doubt they’re looking at my brother pressing me against this tree.

I close my eyes, taste the chocolate on my tongue as I chew, swallowing down the first bite.

“What do you say?” he asks me, his breath against my ear.

My nipples tighten as he palms my breast, squeezing hard.

“Thank you,” I murmur.

He nips at my ear, sparking flutters in my belly. “Who are you thanking, Sis?”

I’m panting, my fingers digging into his forearm as he moves his hand to my other breast, kneading my flesh, igniting my blood.

I know what he wants to hear.

“Thank you, brother,” I whisper against his cheek.

He groans, pressing harder between my thighs, then he licks a line down my throat before his mouth comes back over mine. “Now, was that so hard?” he whispers, the granola bar by his side as I open my eyes, staring into his.

“No,” I admit, feeling flush all over. “It wasn’t.”

He smiles, finally pulls back, dragging his hand over my tits, down my stomach, then out from under my shirt. I release his forearm and he offers me the rest of the bar.

“Eat up, baby.” I take the bar and he threads his arm through my free one, dragging me back to the path and leading us toward Nicolas and Ria, my mind spinning.

“I’m going in!” Ria’s voice echoes around the stream, Nicolas already at the base of the waterfall, grinning up at her.

Ria gives a running jump, then freefalls over the short drop into the pool of water, Nicolas catching her as she lands with as shriek.

That water must be freezing. It’s hot outside, but it’s only spring. Still, the watering hole is full of people, and I don’t really like that.

I glance at Sid beside me on one of the rocks close to the edge. The waterfall rushes in the background, drowning out my words from prying ears when I ask, “Do you want to get in?”
