“Ever, Lilith, do you understand?”

Lie to me. Lie to me like I’m lying to you.

She nods her head.

Good.

She can play this game too.

“Tell me,” I growl against her neck. “Tell me you understand.”

Tell me you’re still in the ring. Tell me you’ve still got some fight left in you. Because you’re gonna need it.

“I understand,” she bites out.

I inhale her scent again, pull us both back against the wall, her still in front of me.

“Say my name.”

I want to hear it on your tongue.

She doesn’t speak.

“Lilith,” I scold her, then scrape my teeth against her skin, wanting her blood in my mouth again. “Say my name.”

Ineedto hear it.

“I understand, Lucifer,” she grits out, as if it kills her.

I trail my hands down her sides, over her hips. Down her thighs. She doesn’t try to move. She doesn’t feel like she’s breathing against me.

“Lilith,” I whisper. “Did Jeremiah touch you? Inanyway? At the hotel you ran from? Or…after?”

Am I going to have to rip your brother apart?

She doesn’t answer me. I know the answer, though, in her long stretch of silence. In the way her breath hitches at his name.

“He shouldn’t have done that.”

I’m going to kill him.

She doesn’t say anything. But I feel her, arching against my touch. Against my cock. I feel her wanting me. And I know she probably hates it as much as I do.

“Sid,” I whisper against her ear, my voice strained.

Stop. Don’t make this harder than it already is.

“Don’t call me that,” she snaps at me.

My hand goes to her throat again. She stills.

“I’ll call you whatever I want to call you,” I growl in her ear and I hear her sharp intake of breath. “And right now, you’remine.”

“Tell me,” she gasps out breathlessly, pressing into me again, sliding her ass against me. “Tell me everything, Lucifer. Make this make sense.”

I can’t.

“What do you want to know?”
