The party we’re forced to attend reminds me a lot of my dads’ engagement party to Dawn. It’s a fitting circle, considering Lacey is finally mine after three years of watching and waiting.

She dances with Callum across the room, smiling as he practically fucks her on the dance floor. No matter how hard I attempt to focus, my eyes continually circle back to her sexy ass.

Feeling her happiness filter through the bond is like a drug, and the hints of her arousal as Callum teases her mercilessly make my dick hard. It’s incredibly inconvenient as I make small talk with several of my fathers’ old associates.

I want that look on her face directed at me. That way, I’ll have a solid excuse to blurt out, “I love you.” It’s fast, but it’s been on the tip of my tongue for days.

Hell, I wouldn’t mind finding a room for the four of us to sneak away to. That dress is doing all sorts of things to my head.

I finish off my glass of Scotch, putting it down on the nearby table. “If you’ll excuse me, gentlemen. My fiancée is looking entirely too enticing.” And with that, I nod at Grim. He follows me across the room until we surround Lacey.

Oh, yes.

I think finding a place to sneak off to is the perfect way to turn this evening around. I’m never going to get tired of knowing she’s mine.

Epilogue

Lacey

Almost Two Years Later

There’s no time of the year like Christmas. It feels like there is real magic in the air. Sometimes I think back on how lucky I got the night that Grim saved me. It caused a whole lot of hell for a while, but luckily, the Boston families showed up for each other.

They remind me of siblings who always pick on one another. It’s perfectly acceptable for an older sibling to harass the younger, but let anyone say or do the same thing, and they’ll show them the deal.

The Boston syndicate seems similar, at least as someone on the outside looking in.

Wilder might be on the edge of quitting every other week, but he’s still incredibly skilled at what he does. He’s really grown into his own over the last two years. Maybe it’s because he has our pack to protect, but he’s become more cutthroat, and some weird part of me loves it. That’s probably only true because he’s still indulgent and tender with me.

The man in question swaggers closer as I cuddle in Grim’s lap.

“Ahh, you two are home. Did you have fun?” I ask, smiling.

“I did.” Callum chuckles.

“Say a word to ruin my surprise, and I will cut you,” Wilder says, sidestepping the sleeping cats. He’s still got his wool overcoat on with the lapels flipped up.

It’s not necessarily his normal style, and my head tilts as he comes to a stop in front of me, hitting a knee.

“It took a bit, but…” Wilder pulls the collar of his coat out of the way to show a small clear bandage on his neck close to the top of his clavicle.

I get the idea, but I can’t make out what the tattoo is because of the cover.

Callum comes over, holding out his phone to show me a picture, and I gasp. My name starts on the side of Wilder’s neck and twists around, showing on the front of his throat.

“Holy shit,” I yelp. “You really did it. I was only joking…”

Cal chuckles. “That spot is painful asfuck.I’m proud of him for not passing out.”

“I’m proud of him for not taking a swing at you right now,” Grim says, and although I can’t see him, I can practically feel him rolling his eyes.

I brush my fingers over Wilder’s skin a few inches above his new tattoo. “I know that was outside your comfort zone, but I love it so much.”

“I love the hell out of you, Lacey,” he says, leaning forward to capture my lips.

I lose myself to the kiss, giving myself a stern reminder not to pick on Wilder about anything serious in the future.

The last time I did, he almost ended up buying a pheromone clinic. I jokingly said he could gift me a franchise so I couldrun it. Luckily, Callum told me he was considering itbeforethe paperwork was signed.
