She knew that the school buildings were starting to show some wear and tear on them.They’d been built in the latter part of the century and were not as up to date as they’d like them to be.The air conditioners and furnaces needed repair, and there wasn’t enough room in the cafeteria to serve as many students at one time.The classes were getting bigger, and the rooms were still the same.It made for some of the kids not getting the attention that they might well need because of the overcrowding.Teachers didn’t much care for it either, and they wanted everyone to be happy about teaching and going to school around here.
It amazed her that so much could change in just twenty years with buildings.Especially ones that were being used daily by hundreds of people—big or small.It just being outdated with the amount of electrical things like outlets and internet services was enough to boggle the mind.But there were things like upgrades made by the state that were also needed.
There were grants they could use for the school that would get them new buildings, as well as follow the updates that were mandated for the new buildings.The tax levy had passed for the new school, and they were excited to be able to take on this project for the area.It was going to be great for the kids coming in the fall next year to be able to start fresh.She was excited too, for when her own children started school in the district.
Chapter 4
Cassian wasn’t sure what to make of the email from one of his buddies from long ago.Something about coming to visit the town before it was torn down.After calling and having to leave a message for Harlin, he decided to go and find Raven to see if she was up to anything.They’d been making love every morning and night since they went out to eat that one time.
