“And Heart isn’t pushing you to have a real wedding?” I ask.
Paisley grunts as she rolls her eyes. “You’re talking about my mom here.”
I raise my eyebrows. “You’re right.” I laugh softly, remembering that Xan and Heart were married at the courthouse downtown.
Lake sets her cup of coffee onto her lap. She’s shaking her right leg.
“Well, I’m sure they approve. He is Hercules Lord,” Lake chuckles. “He’s number two in a million. Mason is number one.”
Paisley laughs as she makes herself comfortable on the left-chaise part of the sofa.
“And he was her first. Did you know that?” Lake looks at me with gaping eyes.
I snort, grinning at Paisley. “Oh, yes, I remember when it happened. There’s something cosmic about their relationship. Fate had a funny way of bringing them together. I’m not surprised they’re married. I think they’re meant to be.”
“And you and Achilles?”
At first, I think Lake is making a statement, but her eyebrows are high and she’s waiting for me to elaborate, which means she was asking a question.
“Yep,” I say tightly.
“I’m surprised you didn’t mention the two of you were together after the fight.”
“Hmm,” I hum.
Lake tilts her head curiously to one side. “Was your relationship with him a secret?”
“Yep.” I take a long drink of my hot latte. I sure hope Lake can take the same hint that she gave me not too long ago.
“Why?” she asks.
I sigh and roll my eyes.She hasn’t gotten the hint.
“I mean… if you don’t want to tell me, that’s okay.”
I jump as wind slams into the windows like it’s angry at the glass. I’m ready to go, and not back to Achilles’s place. He lives too high off the ground. I couldn’t take all the windows pounding and rain beating. I want to go home to my apartment.
“Because… well… I’ll show you,” Lake says and then takes her phone out of her very cute gray satin crossbody purse. “You might want to check out this post fromTRM.”
My hands fly to my sides and grasp the sofa. “Wait. Did the building just sway?”

Rumor has it that Achilles Lord and Treasure Grove met and fell in love in a span of one weekend in Majorca, Spain. Raise your hand if you believe that.

However, at some point, we’ll have to dismiss him as the bitter ex-boyfriend he’s turning out to be.
And Simon, guy, that’s not a good look for a world-famous actor whose throat women would shove their panties down just for one lick of your hotness.
But for now, the heartbroken actor just can’t let it go. He swears we shouldn’t take our eye off the ball, because Achilles and Treasure’s engagement is faker than a three-dollar bill.
