The loud banging on his front door roused him from sleep and he blinked his eyes, letting his tentacles rub the sleep from them. The banging continued, so he threw the covers back and grabbed a pair of sleep pants, shoving his legs into them as he staggeredto the front door. Flinging it open, he lowered his eyes until he spotted Justin. “Justin?”

Justin stared open mouthed at him, then lifted a shaky hand and pointed at Eteriion’s head. “What the fuck are those? Are they…what the fuck?” He stood silent for a few seconds. “Tentacles?” he blurted out. “Are they tentacles?” His mouth opened and closed a few times. “What the fuck are you? And your eyes! What the hell?” Justin stumbled back, falling on his ass, then scrambled back toward the wall of…snow? “Jesus fucking Christ! You’re an alien! A real life… we fucked! Oh my God! I had your dick in my ass! More than once! Is it even a dick or one of those things on your head? Did you fuck me with one of those? Is that why you took me from behind? Oh, my fucking God.” Justin spun onto his hands and knees and began to crawl toward a tunnel…in the snow.

Eteriion glanced around and realized it had snowed. And snowed a lot. It had to be at least six feet high, and as he watched Justin crawl through a tunnel in the snow, he realized something. “You dug a tunnel in the snow.”

“The alien can talk…” Justin laughed, but it sounded strange to Eteriion. “Am I going to catch some deadly disease? Oh, God.”

“I can’t pass anything on to you and it snowed this much last night?”

“Over the last three nights!” Justin glanced over his shoulder, his eyes going wide, and he shot up and managed to run several steps before slipping and falling over. Whimpering, he crawled forward again until Eteriion jogged over and helped him up. Justin swung his arms around and promptly fell. “Don’t touch me.”

“Justin—”

“You’re a fucking alien!” he screamed.

“Yes, I am, and I’ve been living here for over five years. If I was going to do anything to endanger humans, I’d have done it by now.”

“Maybe you’re waiting for the rest of your kind to arrive. I’m going to become a pod person,” Justin sobbed. “Or encased in that slimy shit from Aliens.”

“The first two are great movies.”

“Yes, they are, but stay the fuck away!” Justin shook his hands in Eteriion’s direction. “Can’t you see I’m having a meltdown here? Were you an alien when we fucked? Oh, God…” Justin sat on his ass and rocked back and forth. Eteriion slowly approached, then crouched next to him. “Don’t touch me,” Justin snapped. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Er, because of this?” Eteriion waved his hand over Justin. “The meltdown you’re having.”

“Who said I’m having a meltdown? I’m asleep and this is a nightmare, and I’ll wake up and laugh my ass off about it.” Justin pulled a glove off and pinched the skin on the back of his hand. “Any minute now…”

Eteriion grabbed his arm and hauled him up, then held him steady until Justin could stand on his own two feet. “I like you.”

“You can’t eat me. I’m inedible.”

“You didn’t say that the other night.” Eteriion smiled, then let it fall from his face when Justin glared at him. “Too soon?”

Justin gaped at him, then shoved him off and fell over. Glaring up at him, he panted, and Eteriion waited until it appeared Justin had calmed down. When Justin finally sighed and dropped his head, Eteriion held a hand out. “I can get up by myself.” Justin rolled onto his hands and knees, then pushed back to his feet. Eteriion watched, wincing slightly as Justin held his arms out and slowly straightened.

“You’re the first person to find out about me since I crashed here, other than a few of the townsfolk.”

Justin slowly turned to face him, his arms still held out. “Crashed?”

“A bird hit my ship.”

Justin’s mouth fell open then his lips twitched. “A bird strike?”

“Yes,” Eteriion ground out. He could tell Justin wanted to laugh. “I’ve been here since. A few in the nearby town know about me. They saved me and helped me recover. As of right now, I can’t return home.” He looked back at his cabin and let his shoulders fall. “I’m alone, so you’re safe.”

“There’s no other aliens here?”

Eteriion looked back at Justin and nodded. “No. Just me.”

“That must be lonely being the only one of your kind here. What are those marks on your back? They looked like interlocking circles.”

Eteriion gave Justin a small smile when he nodded. “We’re born with them. We’ve always had them. The same with our eyes.”

Justin took a tentative step closer and peered into his eyes. “Wow. They’re really pretty.”

“So are yours.” Justin’s eyes widened, and he shook his head. “I think they are. They’re different from mine. I like looking into them...”
