He warned, “If ANYONE ever UTTERS a word about MY MATE not belonging here, being worthy, or saying I DO NOTTHINK she is worthy, I’ll banish you. This is your only warning. Patricia will be spending three days in the dungeons for her words claiming I do not want my Luna.” Oh wow.
Freya purred, “Mate is hot.” He definitely was. Xander wasn’t done though, “Patricia will also be pulling double duty in the kitchens and as a Warrior for a decade. Does anyone else have ANYTHING to say about this subject, my mate, our relationship, or aboutmyfeelings FOR MY MATE?!” No one spoke. He snarled, “Good.”
Xander grabbed my hand and led me out of the room. I heard Elise dismiss everyone for the day. Xander was winding down the halls until, finally, he threw a door open and slammed it shut. Before I could say anything, his body was pressed against mine and my mate’s lips were hungrily on mine.
I could practically taste Xander’s lust and need. My mate growled, “MINE!” I told him, “Of course I’m yours.” Xander snapped us naked and nipped my neck harder than he ever had…. but it felt so good. I nearly broke down and begged him to break the skin. The need to be marked by him was overwhelming.
Xander groaned, “I need you so badly right now, and it’s going to have to be hard and fast.” I smiled saying, “Well, if you need it... who I am to say no? Since…well…I also need it…not that I wouldn’t tell you if I wasn’t into it or anything…I would.” The second I finished that sentence, Xander was buried deep inside me.
My mate grunted between thrusts as I held onto him. The sparks I always felt between us intensified. Freya must be getting stronger again. Xander moaned, “God! You are so fucking hot when you take charge. I love you, Melanie. You’re my world. NO ONE will take you from me!”
I screamed his name, “XANDER!” as I climaxed. My mate roared, “MELANIE!” As he came inside me. We both werebreathing hard. I wasn’t sure why I was….considering he did all the work, but dang…. I was out of breath. My mate gently caressed my face and placed a loving kiss on my lips.
Xander sighed and slowly pulled out of me and snapped our clothes back on. He closed his eyes and pulled me close before burying his head into my neck. My mate whispered, “We have to get to the Alpha meeting I want you to sit in on.” I laughed, “Well, hopefully it’s less eventful.”
Freya teased, “I doubt it.” Oh come on! That was drama central. My wolf just hummed but seemed happy. Xander nipped my neck before saying, “There will be several partial Fairies and you attending this meeting so something tells me it will be an interesting time.”
I reasoned, “No one is going to ask for my opinion in this meeting.” I would just take notes… and link someone my thoughts. Freya snorted, “Me, Sierra, or Abigail.” I agreed, “Ok, yes. Probably Sierra…. She’s the one who is most used to my running commentary.” Freya cackled like I’d told the best joke ever.
Xander commented, “It’s a business meeting so they’d be smart to ask you about your opinion considering you’re a genius. Part of why I want you to sit in is to see if you can hear any errors in their presentation that we have not.” I blushed, “You’re flattering me.” Xander tickled me while saying, “I’m also telling you the truth.”
My mate grabbed me and popped us into the office. EJ raised an eyebrow at Xander while Eric nodded to me. I was pretty sure I could see pride in my future father in law’s eyes for how I handled the Luna dispute.
Freya said, “You do. He’s quite impressed with how you handled everything. Considering Thor asked me and I told him that I would’ve RIPPED her head off.” I replied, “You’reprobably going to get to do that… Patricia’s not nearly as smart as she considers herself to be.”
Haley practically growled, “I cannot believe that fucking bitch! I TOLD you she was a fucking bitch, Eric. Why don’t you people listen to me? I know shit when I see it, and Patricia is shit! I’ve said it for fucking decades. That goddamn bitch dared to talk to my son's mate like that. Then Melanie handled the situation like the badass she is. Still, I’ll repeat, I fucking hate Patricia.”
Eric bit his lip then lovingly asked, “Angel, what charm did you put on said obnoxious woman?” My eyes widened in surprise and someone clapped. I looked towards the sound and saw Dylan was in here too. The former Beta winked at me. Did my dad send him to follow me around? Why was he always here?
I looked around the rest of the table noting my dad was sitting here too. I just didn’t know why. Then I realized other Alpha’s were on a video call. This was an alliance business meeting. Cayden sent a wink my way too when I spotted him. He was sitting next to Micah who was wearing a shit eating grin.
I briefly wondered if Haley had ever heard that saying… She’d probably say it should be cake eating grin... or something that tasted good. Buttercup slid me twenty dollars. My soon to be sister in law smirked saying, “That’s easily the best twenty dollars I’ve ever spent. That was amazing. Our meetings were SO DULL before you showed up.” I laughed and pushed it back to Buttercup.
I explained, “My friends and I always bet twenty dollars on stuff. We don’t ever pay though, it’s more to throw it out there what we think is going to happen.” Sierra chimed in, “Fair warning, Mel’s yet to be wrong. So, it’s good we don’t pay. We’d all be broke.” That was a gross exaggeration…all my friends were millionaires because I invested for them.
Buttercup clapped, “I love it. We are so doing that her enow! It’s so sneaky and fun! People think it’s a bet but really, you’re just saying shit is about to go down.” Dylan offered, “My daughter is right, we are ALL doing that.”
The man turned to Eric chiding, “For shame on you Saint God Alpha Prick for never thinking of it. Oh right, you don’t do anything fun. Ever. Yet somehow ALL the fun people just drop into your lap and join your pack. Life is SO unfair. So very unfair.”
Before Eric could respond, someone opened the door. I watched the group here to present file in. Xander was right, this was going to be an interesting meeting. The women of the group were ogling my mate and EJ. Well, I’d just have to put them in place for both Elise and me.
I cleared my throat and glared at the two women flirty glancing in my mate and EJ’s direction. They frowned at me but stopped. Xander’s amusement was shooting up from my foot. Xander spoke out loud, “Kels and Essie, this is my mate, Melanie McAlister.” Those were nicknames… and I didn’t like it. I didn’t recognize these people. I watched all their businesses… so who were these women?
I linked Elise, “Kels and Essie… what are their actual freaking names?” Elise snickered, “Kels is Kelsey and Essie is Bessie.” I asked, “Isn’t that a cow's name?” Elise’s howling laughter came back in our link. I frowned because… it was a serious question. I’d go by Essie too if I were her. Bessie’s parents were kind of mean in my opinion.
Elise grumbled, “Man, I wish I was in that meeting. Someone needs to turn on the camera in there and record this.” I mean I could but saying that seemed like a bad idea… I didn’t technically or officially have access. Freya laughed, “You are such fun.”
Elise replied before I could, “You know what? I can do that.” I admitted, “I already don’t like these people.” Elise laughed, “I told EJ you wouldn’t. He doesn’t understand why though. He doesn’t think they like Alexander or him.”
I warned, “He’s wrong… well maybe they don’t like them… but flirting implies they like them… I need more data to confidently say they like them though.” Elise growled, “I know they like them.” I mean… she didn’t. There was a whole subsect of pacts that operated in ways Elise didn’t know about.
I focused back on the meeting. Essie, because calling her Bessie didn’t sit right, sat on Xander’s other side and Kelsey sat where Elise should. I growled, “You know that’s for his Luna. Pick another chair.” Kelsey frowned, “It’s an empty chair.” I pinned her with a glare retorting, “And there’s another empty one on EJ’s left side. The seat on his right is reserved for his Luna, which you are not. Move or I’ll make you.”
“Because you won’t disrespect the Lead Luna of Black Mountain in my presence by sitting in her seat… Elise’s always been like a sister to me… and I don’t care if you sat there when she’s not here before… I’m here now and it’s NOT happening. Move it.”
Kelsey quickly moved, muttering, “I’m so sorry. I meant no offense to Luna Elise.” Something was off about this. Freya echoed my thoughts, “Something is weird. It’s like this woman wants our help but isn’t asking for it. I’m tempted to claw the other one’s eyes out for staring at mate that way.”
I looked over and caught Essie staring at Xander with a seductive smile. I barely withheld my snarl. I glared at her until she looked my way. I could kill her, and Essie had to know that. She paled and looked away.
