Not that she did it… but Edward didn’t give her a choice. I added, “That would be very bad for you. I have proof in this file… three people on your Council took bribes from Black Path. I, of course, know about more.”
One glared at me snarking, “You can’t threaten us.” I tilted my head saying, “How odd… because I just did. You’re here to silence me, but you clearly don’t know me. You also don’t know my mate if you think he’ll just let you take me.”
One smirked, “You’re not marked or his Luna.” I rebutted, “I am marked, and my Luna ceremony is scheduled. You do not have the authority to take me… you’d need Alpha Dalton and Dakota’s permission… and you wouldn’t get that.”
“You’re dealing with people whose intelligence is FAR above yours. I’m not one to bow down and quiver in my boots because someone with a title is before me. I know the laws… which ismore than anyone can say for you. You’d have to go through my pack’s Alphas, then the Werewolf Council. Both of whom would deny your request.”
Their phones rang. I smiled, taunting, “You should get that. I might have sent the file to three individuals… who will want you to leave… immediately, given the dirt I have on them. Oh, and when you do shady things… you should know that other shady people document that action. Edward for all his faults… was thorough and meticulous about his dealings in illegal activity.”
That was true… I’d just gotten more from their own files, but they didn’t need to know that. One answered the call, “Jedidiah.” Jedidiah ordered, “Leave the girls and get out of there. Now.” I smiled and mouthed, “Told you so.”
One answered, “Understood.” He hung up warning me, “You’re playing above your league.” I snorted, “No, you are. I have nothing to lose going against you. If anything happens to me or my friends… you all are outed as incompetent.”
“How long do you think you will live when that happens? I don’t even think you’d make it an hour. Watch yourselves, because if my friends or I so much as get a papercut… you’re done for. I have several plans in place to out you, that I don’t need to be physically present for to enact. Stay out of my way and my life. I’ve suffered enough because you don’t understand how your job works.”
“You all outright refused to do it. Don’t cross me ever again… or I’ll ruin you. All of you. I’ll take complete and utter joy in riling up every single Alpha blood I know to take you out… and we all know I can do it. I do so unintentionally a LOT. Imagine what I can do if I mean it given the blood running in my veins is Beta.”
Sierra linked, “DAAAYYYUUUMMMMMM. Holy shit. You snapped so hard. I’m so proud of you. Also, you intentionally detonating people is utterly terrifying.” It would have the result I wanted though and all of us knew it.
All three men were red faced and angry. Two more shimmered out to join them. I smirked at the one with a black eye. I laughed, “You must have said something about taking me to my mate. See? I’m right... you all are not smart.” They glared at me.
One gritted his teeth, “We formally invite you to convene with the Supernatural Council.” I replied, “I’m going to pass on your invitation. I formally invite you to eat dirt and stay out of my way…if you want to keep breathing.”
“Is the world just full of idiots? I didn’t say anything about you… and you had to know that… because you’re alive. Yet you show up here… using me as an excuse and pissing me off. Which you all know would not work in your favor… nonetheless, it was a bad idea in the first place. Now… leave or Paige will curse you.”
Paige smirked saying, “I’ve got a doozy ready to fly.” They stared at her. One hissed, “She wouldn’t dare.” I snorted, “She absolutely would. Go for it, Paige.” Paige quickly started to chant, and they shimmered out. Not all were Demons, but some were.
Paige winked, “They will still be cursed for a time. I learned from the best you have to make people understand you’re serious.” I squeezed her hand, “That’s our Witch… she’s better than any out there. I’m pretty sure the Bishop’s figured that out too.” Paige chuckled… which meant I was right.
Xander and EJ popped out to us. I smiled, “Hello. What brings you guys out here?” Xander growled and yanked me against him, breathing hard. EJ asked me, “What did you do?” I said, “I blackmailed them… like Phil said I would do.”
Avery snorted, “They aren’t exactly big fans of yours, Mel.” I shrugged, “Well… I wasn’t a fan of theirs first… so I win. To be fair, the Supernatural Council has never liked me or my parents… especially my dad, because he refused to let them use me.”
“I simply reminded them how dumb they were to come here in the first place…. and made them wonder what exactly Edward wrote down about them that now resides in the most powerful pack in the country.”
“Which they deserved… they said I was smart… just smart… AND I AM A GENIUS! SMART! UGH! Morons all of them… disrespectful morons even. That’s what they are… and rude. They were the ones wanting to use me and my genius mind since I was three. They came here and called me SMART! The actual audacity.” Freya was laughing pretty hard in my head.
EJ gaped at me and Xander growled again. Freya purred, “Ohhh the possessive undertones. I’m here for it.” Xander snarled, “EJ.” EJ nodded and Xander popped us to our room. My mate pushed me against the door, “MINE!”
Before I could answer his lips were on mine in a searing, claiming kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck. Xander pulled on my hair and popped us to the bed. I looked down, “Umm… when did I lose my clothes?”
Xander gripped my chin with his fingers, and his lips were back on mine. I forgot all my questions as the sparks flew between us. His bare chest felt so good against mine. I was beginning to think in these moments that Xander had more than two hands. It felt like they were everywhere.
Xander slid his tongue into my mouth when I gasped, as his finger entered me. My mate linked me, “MINE!” I scratched his back and whispered, “Tuum (Yours).” Xander growled and he popped between my legs. His mouth was on my clit in seconds.
I screamed his name as his fingers and tongue worked me over again and again. Xander slid back up my body and gathered my hands in his. He pulled my arms above my head and held them with one of his hands, then slid into me. I whimpered.
Xander began to move. My mate growled, “No one will EVER take you from me.” I nodded my head, agreeing withthat statement. Xander began to thrust faster. I tried to free my hands, but his hold was like a vice grip.
Without warning he flipped me onto all fours. Xander’s hands gripped my hips as he slammed back into me. I gripped the sheets. Xander growled, “You’re so wet for me.” His fingers began to work my clit. I couldn't form a coherent sentence. Xander didn’t seem to care though.
We fell into a sweaty heap of limbs hours later. I couldn’t move and my eyes were drifting shut. Xander chuckled and held me close to him. I woke up feeling cold. I frowned and blinked my eyes. I was in Nashville?
Specifically, my apartment in Nashville. Was it all fake? Was I not in Black Mountain? Freya said, “I’m here with you and everything is real. This is the Ribbon.” I took several deep breaths. I looked around and realized a bunch of stuff was missing. This had to be before I turned sixteen.
I quickly got up and found a calendar. My heart dropped into my stomach because it was actually almost my sixteenth birthday. I quickly unlocked my computer and set off an alarm for the apartment. The other me would come here, and she’d have to hurry.
This reality me had fifteen minutes until her first shift. I heard the elevator whir to life. I was sitting in plain view when she stepped through with a gun in her hand. The younger me froze when she saw me, then started crying.
