“Also, it's weird that I couldn’t hear the motorcycle driving up… but the crash of glass... that I heard. It’s like Selene wants me to hate her and she finds ways to get her rocks off annoying me.” Freya offered, “I also don’t think that was the end of the vision. A bad guy was reaching for something under the desk. Whatever came next, was probably not fun. I don’t know what to say about Selene anymore.”
I sighed, “Sure, why not give us a clue about that since we don’t know who those girls were? I mean COME ON! How am I supposed to help? What good is this vision thing if I don’t go in fully prepared. A kid… that was a FREAKING PUP!”
“Sure, I monitor a lot of them… all the time… but I can’t monitor every pup I know. It’s not going to Black Mountain’spack allies. They already tried to kidnap Kai and that failed… someone I monitor… and they still got him… which is irksome!”
I sat down and ran through possibilities, but there were too many. I didn’t have enough information to have a decent list. I looked at Freya declaring, “This is bull crap.” Freya offered, “I agree.” I sighed, “How can we help people if we don’t know who they are? If I could see who those girls were… I could stop that from happening.”
“I could have people watching… I could tell whoever is related to them to have people on them… there are SO many options if I knew who they were. I need my computer to check and see if anything has popped. Mason and Hendrick have been on duty since all of us are dealing with a lot; however, a kidnapping plan would’ve brought to my attention. Anything urgent would be.”
Freya snickered, “I have your memories, so I know your protocols. I know that you’d know.” I rubbed my temples saying, “It makes sense that the Ring has been quiet. We’ve dealt them some serious blows lately. We took down most of the Hunters from Nashville.”
“Some escaped obviously, but their numbers took a serious hit. We’ve taken out Ezra, Robert, and Trevor… now Francis too. We foiled their attempt on Emma and MaryBeth by proxy. They’ve had a lot of losses.”
“It makes sense they are going to strike back, but it’s not going to be obvious who they are targeting. That little girl isn’t going to be Angela… or any of the surrounding allies. They will be people easier to get to… people that matter to those important within the allies. There are just too many factors to know who that would be. Cayden has sources… all the Hackura do. They consider those people important.”
Freya said, “They could be people important to you.” I snorted, “If they knew anyone they could get to, that was important to me… they’d have done it by now. The Ring don’tknow how big my network is. They don’t know I’m the leader of the Resistance.”
“The Ring is arrogant enough… that they don’t even want to acknowledge I could be part of it. It won’t be about me.” I shoved that aside. I told Freya, “I need to contact Kingsley to see if she wants to meet up, and I need her to dig for information.”
Freya asked, “About what?” I answered, “The Vampire that can compel other Supernatural’s. That’s going to be someone big in the Ring. That’s a serious power, and one that’s been kept under wraps. He’s going to be behind the Ring… or close to those that are.”
Freya surmised, “You have an idea.” I nodded, “Yes, I do.” Freya asked, “What is it?” I explained, “A group started the Ring… not an individual. I think it’s at least three people that head up the Ring. I think it includes the Vampire who can compel people leading them… but I think there’s at least two more.”
Freya prodded, “And who do you think that is?” I sighed, “That’s where I’m not sure. I’ve been thinking over what I was able to read about Fairies in my old pack. I need to do more research. Maybe if Xander would take me to visit the library in Faerie… I could get answers.”
Freya said, “Tell me your theory. Talking through things can help bring clarity.” I told her, “Alania had to know her children would be the promised siblings. Her sight couldn't have told her that when Aiden was born. That’s too far in the future from what I’ve learned about sight…unless she knew they were the promised siblings and used his power to make hers stronger.”
“Which means Alania knew somehow before then… if she knew… who is to say the family in power before theirs didn’t know? I know they are the ones who started to spread the hatred of partial Fairies. What if they did that because they knew the pure of heart Fairy would be a partial?”
“Or one of the promised siblings would be a partial. There’s very little on Alania’s parents’ siblings… and they had them. What if the family before… had their unmated members constantly meeting the Holloran’s, until they found one they were mated to?”
“Fairies live for centuries. They knew if the Holloran family had the promised siblings… they would eventually fall out of power forever to the Holloran’s. They probably stayed in power until it wasn’t possible. Not all of them died… I’d guarantee it.”
“So, that family had a plan. They want to wipe out the promised siblings. I think they must believe, with whoever the Holloran on their side is… who is one of their mate’s.… if it’s not more than one… they believed there was a chance to recreate the promised siblings with their bloodline eventually.”
“One, or all three, of those people were close to King Damon. Maybe they had plans for Haley to die… or they wanted to use her until they could ensure their plans' success. A plan, that Alania didn’t exactly want to work out.”
I huffed, “I mean… she did, but she didn’t. Alania didn’t want Haley and Eric to have Angela. She needed one of her children to realize they were the promised siblings to come into their powers. Logically… only Haley would’ve started to suspect.”
“Our mother in law likes to read. She knows things she should and shouldn’t be able to do charm wise, but from what I’ve been told… Haley didn’t fully understand the implications of those charms. Aiden and Arion wouldn’t have tried to perform magic they didn't think they could do. They are too proud and Fairy-like to try something they believe they’d fail at.”
Freya hummed, “That’s going to be huge if you are right. So, if it’s a male Holloran they’d have to turn him.” I shook my head disagreeing, “No, Fairies live for centuries. It could be a female Holloran. One member of the mated Fairy couple is likely now a Vampire… Faepire? Is that what they are called? Who knows?”
“Anyway… one of them is the child of the Vampire who can compel other supernatural’s. Or the Fairy is the one who can compel other supernatural’s. Hell, maybe it’s both master and child… of some variety. The female will have remained a Fairy though and hasn’t been turned.”
“Which is fine… because they live for centuries. To ensure loyalty… the original Vampire would’ve turned one of them. It would be the male because they need the female to have children eventually in this plan.”
“It HAD to start with the family in power before the Holloran’s. Why else would they turn Fairies against partials? The only reason they could have was to prevent the promised siblings from truly reaching their potential.”
“Why was that allowed? Because the goddesses suck. I mean seriously… you have this special group, and you let them get torn apart. Arion never had a chance here. He didn’t in any reality until Haley was twice light bound to Eric… or ones they realized they were promised siblings. So, some big event, or different decision, that didn’t happen here… which sucks… for our reality.”
“As the most unselfish promised sibling, Haley would always be chosen for the Ribbon… and she’d have been the only sibling willing to be twice light bound in the first place. So much rested on her shoulders, and her goddess let her be tortured… multiple times.”
“Haley’s entire childhood… then again after she found Eric. If I’m right… the goddesses are worse than I have estimated them in my eyes. To allow her to suffer… to allow her own brothers to feel conflicted about loving her… because the promised siblings want to be close. They NEED to be close, and the Enforcer needs to bond with the pure of heart fae.”
“Arion and Aiden would’ve had to fight their own lights… because of the manipulations they were under the influenceof… to allow Arion to die when they need him? It’s beyond not wanting the Angela to be born. There has to be more to them.”
Freya’s eyes flickered with knowledge. My wolf knew. Freya asked me, “Whatever do you mean?” I snorted, “You are an all knowing wolf. You know.” Freya laughed, “I do, but what do you mean?” I sighed, “They have some other purpose. There has to be some divine purpose in these particular siblings being chosen.”
