“If anything… I’m the one people are going to be most sensitive about. So probability wise taking me, unless the opportunity literally presents itself, won’t happen. They will not call to ask for me back because they know it won’t happen…nor do they want that because Xander isn’t known for being the calm on of his siblings.” I thought about it some more.
My eyes narrowed. I asked, “This was in Red Run, right?” I continued knowing it was. I said, “They don’t know officiallyRobert has been captured. They probably assume he has been at this point… which means they lost their mole.”
“I’m here, so they must know their compulsions don’t work. Nothing has been reported to the Supernatural Council.” Eric interrupted, “Caleb did.” I hummed, “And I blocked them from getting his updates and the other Betas on the Werewolf Council… because I don’t like the Supernatural Council…. and I knew it would annoy them.” Aiden snickered.
I continued, “Plus, I made sure no one can hack into the Werewolf Council.” Eric said, “Did you?” I waved my hand, “Yes… but it wasn’t hard. Prince Gunner has your files locked down quite tightly. Red Run accepted their call though.”
“That means they could have someone use the connection hack in… I didn’t protect Dalton and Dakota to the level they’d need. I only protected Jason’s computer in Red Run. They could hack into the phone in their office, then... OH MY GOD!” I ran to my phone and called Tristan.
My brother answered, “Hello, Ladybug.” I immediately asked, “Is anyone there to fix something?” Tristan asked, “Huh?” I clarified, “Was something wrong with your phone? Specifically in the conference room?”
Tristan answered, “Yes, but there’s a phone company here fixing the one in Dalton and Dakota’s office. It had a static tone on it.” No, it didn’t. Not even kind of. I hung up on him. Tristan linked, “Did you just hang up on me?” I replied, “Busy! I gotta… I’ll fix it.” Tristan replied, “It’s just a phone.” It was not.
I called Paige. My friend answered, “Hello, Mel.” I told her, “There’s a bad guy…. in your mate’s office. I doubt he’s alone and I bet he’s armed. Take Avery and Ads if she’s around… I’m coming.” Aiden smiled offering, “I can take you. God, this is fun! Situations arise so she gets to stop talking about things she doesn’t want. That’s fascinating. I wonder if it’s a goddess thing.” Eric rolled his eyes.
Bjourn said, “Let’s all go. This should be good.” Haley popped to us and grabbed me and Eric. Aiden smiled and grabbed Bjourn. We popped into the Kyle’s house in Red Run. I could hear fighting, so I took off running.
Paige, Avery, and Addison were standing in Dalton’s office smiling. Avery smirked saying, “You have to love a good curse.” Paige laughed, “You hit them with your knockout punch before the curse.” Avery growled, “They were trying to bug my man! I had to hit them.”
Tristan was already there, and he was glaring at me. What? What did I do? I helped. Freya said, “Apollo is not happy.” I reiterated, “I helped.” Freya chuckled, “He will explain it, but I agree. You did help.” I knew that.
Dalton and Dakota ran in with Alpha Peter which had me bristling. The need for his love prickled at the base of my spine. The box with my rage rattled, which was crazy… he didn’t know the truth about me… and he was compelled.
Logic wasn’t working though and my rage box rattled as the need for his love grew. Haley touched my arm and shot me a soft knowing smile. Dalton asked, “What the hell is going on? Do you have a problem with repair men, my Witch?”
Paige snorted, “I have a problem with fake repairman, yes. We caught them red handed trying to plant a bug.” Tristan said, “You caught them because Ladybug called you. I was on my way to check it out. Since she hung up on me and her link was weird.”
I opened my mouth then shut it. He had a point, I could’ve told him. It was just instinctive to tell my friends. Paige snorted, “Get that look of your face, Tristan McAlister. When things have gone wrong for the last seven years, we have been who she calls.”
“I know that before she left it was you, but you should take heart that you were the first call she made. That says something. Run with it or sulk somewhere else. Mel could’ve called and asked us her question. Her gut had her calling her brother. Thenshe hung up and called us to take care of it. She took a step with you; so, lighten up you sour puss.”
That was so Paige. Haley laughed. Dalton growled, “Why would they bug us?” Haley put up her hand and spoke in Fealish. She was protecting the room and Aiden conjured three listening devices to him. He flicked his hand, and they were gone.
Dalton asked, “Where did you send them?” Aiden smiled answering, “To a high school in Wisconsin. I’m sure they’ll hear all the human’s juicy secrets.” That was kind of funny. Dalton asked, “Why would they want to bug us?”
Tristan linked me, “You should explain it since you figured it out.” That was nice of him… even when he was mad at me. I explained, “Their mole is gone because Robert has been discovered. They might want to see what you know.”
“Plus they definitely want to know what you are planning… and what revenge you want for being compelled. They have to be curious and somewhat concerned about if you remember the Vampire, or Vampires, that compelled you is or are.”
“They stayed ahead of this pack and the allies because they had inside knowledge. They’ve now lost that. To be bluet, they’ve lost too much in a short period of time… which they cannot like. Having an ally so close to Black Mountain to have information on not only your pack, but the surrounding ones, Fairies, and the Hackura is too good for them to give up.”
I pointed at my brother, “Tristan is close to Levi and they probably talk in here sometimes. Your Gamma is a partial Fairy, Elise is your sister, Melinda is a Luna of Blue Moon, and she’s also the aunt of this pack’s Beta.”
“Red Run is the gateway to a lot of packs… Even Yellow Hills and Purple Howlers… both Luna’s here have ties to those packs and more Fairies and even Hood members. So… it’s a lot of other Supernatural’s they are fighting. They obviously do not like that they have been cut off.”
Dalton and Dakota stared at me. I shrugged, “What? Robert would’ve known a lot of things. He was a Warrior. Who was also…somewhat annoyingly… good at being around to overhear things. They had a pretty good thing going.”
“Ezra was an ally of Red Run, so he got your memos. They gave him up basically….and it was a mistake they now realize. Because they did it without knowing we had Robert. They might have not let Ezra lose the farm if they’d known that.”
Haley said, “I’m sorry, Ezra had a fucking farm? How did I not know that? Do we need to rescue those poor animals?” I smiled answering, “No, it’s a saying. His money portfolio could’ve used investments in things like a farm… but he didn’t have one.” Tristan snickered quietly.
Haley rolled her eyes, “Of fucking course it is a saying. I have got to correct that.” I linked her, “We could start a website with your sayings. Or a Twitter account. You could tweet better sayings and hashtag them.” Haley replied, “I don’t know what the fuck a hashtag is, but I like it. Let’s work on that.” I agreed, “Sure.”
Eric asked, “What just happened? I don't know what it was, but Angel you feel calculating and VERY happy.” Haley kissed him and said, “It’s just some mother/daughter in law bonding. Don’t fucking worry about it.” Eric snorted, “I’m worried.”
Xander and EJ popped in. Xander grabbed me and slammed his lips on mine. He pulled back and told me, “I’ll be here for a little bit. We need to have a meeting. My mom can take you back if you want.” I sighed, “There’s someone I need to talk to here anyway… umm…”
I turned to Eric and said, “If we need to talk more…I guess you can just tell Si… since there is no way we covered all the topics you wanted to go over…since this kind of came up.” Eric laughed, “We did not.” Bjourn said, “We could go as far to say we didn’t even scratch the surface.” Oh boy.
