I frowned pointing out, “Lots of girls look like me. I mean I have black hair… I'm average height… and…” Bjourn cut me off, “You are distinctive, and you know it.” I replied, “I haven’t met your mom.” Aiden jumped in, “But you have seen her.”
I frowned, “Most people know what the Dowager Queen of the Hackura looks like.” That are related to her… which I am… so it’s fine. Freya cackled. Aiden hummed, “There is more to that thought of your statement.”
Bjourn laughed, “It was evasive. People do not know what my mom looks like unless they are Hackura or related to one. My mom does not go by Veronica when she’s in this realm.” Aiden said, “Exactly. There was more to her statement because she knows people don’t know who Veronica is.” I frowned and thought about it.
I blurted out, “My brother is friends with your nephew.” Eric said, “So that means you know what Veronica looks like. That doesn't mean most people do.” UGH! People related to her do! Aiden said, “You always knew my nephew was yours though, soyou paid attention.” I agreed, “I mean I always pay attention….to most things… unless they are boring.”
Aiden chuckled, “I meant to anyone in my nephew’s family. You know who she is because she’s important to Alexander.” Yes. Aiden laughed, “I know.” UGH! INSIDE HEAD THOUGHTS, MELANIE!
Aiden continued, “You protect people. So, the question is why did you cause a commotion, so they didn’t go inside the bar?” I frowned, “I didn’t… I mean… they can protect themselves.” Bjourn laughed, “So they can. You still didn’t want them to go inside. It was you, right?” I frowned.
Bjourn said, “If you look me in the eyes and say it wasn’t you, I’ll drop the matter.” I could do that. I could lie… this one time… to the Hackura King. I could totally do that. Freya snorted, “Not even you believe that. By the way, you can’t even lie in your own head. Your voice squeaks. This ought to be good.”
I shot back, “You could come forward and lie.” Freya snickered, “I could. I am a better liar than you are, but Thor would know it was me. They all would because our voice’s do not sound the same.” DANG IT! I could do this.
I looked at Bjourn in the eye. I said, “I didn’t… well… I… I’ve… umm… I’ve never met your mom.” I looked away because none of that was a lie. Freya was laughing in my head. Aiden snorted, “Oh my god, that was utterly sad.”
Bjourn laughed, “Cayden was right. Watching you try to lie makes it VERY obvious when you’re lying.” I pointed out, “I didn’t lie. I haven’t met her.” Bjourn replied, “But I asked you to say it wasn’t you that made sure they didn’t go into that bar, and you tried to say that but couldn’t.” True.
Freya took over, “Melanie kept them out of the bar because they were about to walk into a bar owned by the Ring. They were armed to the teeth, and they had just received pictures of the royal family from the Supernatural Council's files.”
“Melanie didn’t know where they came from until she hacked in the other day. Patricia took pictures at Thanksgiving which gave those attending away as Hackura royalty. Melanie wiped the pictures from the cellphones at the bar and the people there all died mysteriously. She put blocks up so that they couldn’t get more.”
Freya gave me control back. I linked her, “Oh no… you can’t just say that… then leave! Come back! That’s not fair… I can’t… I mean… they… this… why did you do that?” Bjourn said, “I’m sorry. Blocks? I should’ve brought Gunner.”
I squeaked, “Prince Gunner? I mean… he does know all about blocks… and gosh… it was his code… that I used… with like mine too… I didn’t just copy his… because… I mean… he’s so good.” Bjourn smirked at me.
I explained, “Right, so… blocks… ummm well…. I mean…. I kind of… Ok so… I put a block… which means that the Ring… well… they can’t get your pictures. Even from their corrupted council files. I set up a trap for pictures with all of you guys together.”
“I mean everyone knows who Aiden is… but I knew the Hackura couldn't have their pictures out there. Especially not royalty. Not everyone knows who Aiylee is, and I thought it would be best… maybe if they didn’t… along with other Holloran’s.”
“So, I set them up on it too. Aiylee is with Cassie a lot. Paige had to help me with the Corbin issue. We had to confuse some people… he just had so many attempts on his life… we figured out who knew who he was though.”
Bjourn Asked, “And that person is where?” I frowned, “Umm… he’s dead. I kind of… shot him…. more than was necessary… but that was a whole… ordeal. I took everything he had on Corbin… and you want it… yeah you do, that’s a look… I was going to give it to Corbin if that matters.”
Bjourn said, “I’ll give it to him.” I sighed and used my laptop and emailed the information over to Corbin and gave a flash drive to Bjourn. My mate’s uncle frowned asking, “Why would a Warlock I’ve never heard of care about my nephew?”
I answered, “Umm… his Wick and Corbin dated. Corbin ended the relationship when he met Blaise. Then this girl met her Wick… but from… well… Ok, I bugged her phone too… she was still hung up on Corbin. The Wick was jealous… I guess.”
Bjourn snorted, “But he’s dead?” I nodded, “Yes, but if Corbin could go out with a Fairy charm for a while…that would be super helpful.” Bjourn snorted. I frowned because I was serious. Freya told me, “He knows that.”
Good. Because people would eventually forget, but not right now. Corbin needed to watch his back. Bjourn said, “We knew there were more threats on him, but not why.” I snorted, “I know. His Guard is around… a lot.” Bjourn raised an eyebrow.
I said, “So… um… .is there anything else you want to talk about?” Eric laughed, “Yes. I’d like to talk about the information you gave me on Edward.” I nodded. Eric continued, “You warned my nephew about a Demon family who just so happens to have taken a payment from Edward.”
I sighed, “I don’t know what it’s for though. I didn’t think they would cause K problems… or I wouldn’t have asked her to go there.” Bjourn said, “You asked Kingsley to go to Spain?” I snorted, “K wouldn’t have gone otherwise. She doesn’t always go if asked… because she’s busy.” Bjourn hummed.
Eric nodded, “My question is how you pulled someone off that assignment and put them elsewhere.” I explained, “I didn’t pull anyone… technically speaking. I asked K to look into something and that led her where she is. I didn’t tell her to leave. Well… I did ask her to come to my Mating Ceremony… but still. Like I said earlier… K does her own thing.” That was true.
I asked Kingsley what she wanted to do. I only asked her to look into a Vampire that compels people because Sherman could do it, but he’s supposed to be dead. Kingsley was coming back on her own though. If she’d wanted to stay in Spain… I wouldn’t have said anything.
Bjourn said, “K joined the Resistance because of you which means she doesn’t run it.” I shook my head, “No, she doesn’t. She’s protected the innocent in her own way… with her own deal.” Bjourn seemed to consider that.
Eric asked, “How many people have joined the Resistance because of you?” All of them. I replied, “A lot.” Freya complimented me, “Good job on your inside thoughts.” Right? Progress! My wolf chuckled in response.
Aiden changed the subject, “I’m told the subject of the call the other day, when they kidnapped my cousin and my niece’s sister in law, was because they want you back in the fights.” I replied, “Xander mentioned that, but it doesn’t make any sense.”
“Sure, I made them money… but bringing me back brings all of you down on them. The LAST thing the true Undergrounds want… is your attention. Even with you knowing about them… they were either lying or stalling. You’ve known since they took Jane and Madeline. They just got more careful and quieter about them and changed routines. They might want me, but they know Xander would never give me up. Or my family.”
