I could go in alone, but going with the Hackura would guarantee the Supernatural Council left Kingsley alone. Out loud I said, “You can’t let them see her. They can’t know about her… I’ve kept her off their radar… and she’s almost got on it a few times… but now she’ll be more visible… since… uhh your family is.” Eric and Aiden frowned.

Bjourn’s eyes narrowed because he knew exactly who I was talking about. Eric asked, “Who? Shouldn't we be worried about you? The second set of paperwork must have included something about the white wolf.”

I shrugged answering, “Wolves with special abilities… which they were trying to get in front of you anyway. They added unusual colors… which… isn’t white… when you think about it. So… even when they try… they suck at wording things. It’s a roundabout way of saying the white wolf.”

“The paperwork did detail that any wolf apprehended with special abilities would be turned over to the Council so they could make sure they weren't a danger. Which is obviously codefor they would imprison said wolf and use them. That’s not the point right now. They CANNOT find out about her.”

Bjourn frowned asking, “Why? What is she?” I winced saying, “I can’t tell you that….that’s not… it’s just…ummm that’s her deal. She’s not one to fall in line. They wouldn’t know how to contain or control her… they would decide to kill her if they found out.”

“I mean they would try… I won’t let that happen, but I need your help. If we bring the Ring and Supernatural Council down together… it would be faster….than if I did it alone…..and I want her to be happy…and she is…but she’s now more visible.”

Bjourn stiffened, “No one will kill her.” I reasoned, “I mean…I said I wouldn’t let that happen.. but I can tell you the Supernatural Council would try to do so if they found out about her. Those people are not who you think they are.”

“I would imagine only Aiden understands like to be closer to what it is…his people get locked out all the time for a reason…more than they know actually. They don’t have the real schedule of meetings… and they aren’t told about some appointments… in fact….people make sure they aren’t there if someone they don’t want them to know about it on the docket.”

Aiden angrily asked, “Is that so? Because that is more than I was thinking about them.” I answered, “It is so. Tell them to fire their secretaries and watch the group descend into chaos if they want some fun… because there’s a reason they’ve only communicated with their secretaries by phone and email. It’s because their motivations would tell your people they are bad and being lied to.”

Aiden grinned, “How fun. That sounds like a good time.” Good. I hoped it ruined Herman’s whole day. I warned, “Then when they don’t like your representatives pick their new secretaires when everyone else did….you’ll see what I mean. The Supernatural Council will give them a list of options under theguise of being helpful…because ‘flighty Fairies’ don’t want to spend their time interviewing. They will even offer to do said interviews. They aren’t original in their prejudice.”

“Someone on it is absolutely in league with the Ring. I can’t crack all their files yet, but I checked their system. The virus that the Ring is using to get information didn’t come from an outside hack. It came from inside.”

I turned back to Bjourn, “I can handle myself and so can she, but she is my friend. I don’t let my friends get caught in the crossfire. She has lived a solitary life but joined the Resistance because of me. If they come for her, it will be my fault. She was fine on her own.”

Eric said, “Then this conversation is about the woman who saved Tenley and Blaise with you. H’s mate?” Bjourn stared at me, and I simply stared back letting him see my sincerity. I added, “She knows too. She’d have gotten a copy of what they were trying to slide through on the paperwork. She’s always had to know that if people found out about her… she’d be in for a hard time. She’s really intelligent.” Damn it, Kingsley. Why didn’t I put it together faster?

Bjourn said, “We can bring her to our realm.” I sighed, “Unless that’s her idea… she won’t go. It’s… a whole… ugh! It’s because she’s been alone so long… you guys just need to be you and prove you won’t go away.”

“You’ll… well…umm tell him to keep a close eye on her? She’s not reckless. Like I said, she’ highly intelligent, but this is my fault. I should’ve seen it sooner…I thought the time it took to get her to your realm would be ok…because…you guys are you…I didn’t factor the Supernatural Council into the timetable.”

Aiden snorted, “You don’t have to say ‘him’. You are obviously talking about Hastein. This is SO fun. You evade so well. I think it’s because your concern is genuine for your friend. The woman in question has made friends with a spy of my own. My spythinks the Resistance spy knows what she is up to as well. yet they are both pretending not to know.”

I wondered who his spy was since he wouldn’t have a Fairy in there. Eric groaned, “Do NOT tell me you have a partial Fairy hanging out with Vampires. Haley will flip shit.” I defended Aiden, “He wouldn’t do that.”

Aiden laughed, “She is right, I would not. I have other sources, wolf of my sisters. My spy has been working her way through as a pet. My spy is high up now though. Melanie here used the computer skills to get the purple haired girl in as an assistant with far more access to things. It’s brilliant. I was trying to be evasive and run the long game.”

Bjourn said, “Anyway. What is my son’s mate doing?” I explained, “Getting information. The information she got led her there… I have questions… because the answer… is someone who is dead… but maybe… there was another person… or he’s not dead… that’s a possibility. I need to look into that… but I’m kind of short on time…lately…Xander make me sleep all the time now.” All of them snorted.

Bjourn questioned, “Who knows what my daughter in law is?” Aiden snorted, “That is your question? I feel you are not sticking to the right points. We should’ve had a Beta wolf in here.” It definitely would’ve helped and several would’ve come.

I answered Bjourn, “Me… and her… and whoever wrote her the letter about her memories…. but those people aren’t in this realm. As far as I know it’s her and I that know.” Eric pressed, “Your friends do not know what she is?”

I shrugged, “They know some of the things she can do… but what she is… is not something I would ever tell. That’s her prerogative. Sierra might have guessed… but I doubt it. There are a select few who would guess what she is.” Aiden would know when they met, but he’d have suspected. Along with several other Fairies.

Bjourn said, “I will not, under any circumstances, allow my son's mate to be killed or used. Our lawyer, Aaron, would’ve caught the part of about the hybrids. The Council had to know we would have them read before signing.” I snorted, “They had a moles in the packs. I’m sure they could bribe a Fairy to get Aiden to just sign it.”

“Which is crazy when you think about it. The man senses motivations… and Aiden is quite cautious. I don’t know what their plan was for you, because to bribe a Hackura to betray their King… is... um… well…” Aiden offered, “Practically impossible.”

I pointed, “Yes… basically… and a good way to lose your life if you’re wrong about their loyalty. Because one never knows if that’s a test.” Aiden hummed, “I would know how impossible it is. I wasn’t even trying to get anyone to betray anyone. I simply wanted them to inform me if assistance was needed for my niece, nephews, or sister. Your people are fiercely loyal, Bjourn.”

Aiden paused then added, “Minus those three riff raffs that thought they could outsmart my brother, mother, cousin, and uncle. We all have our outliers.” Umm… and Cora. Eric growled. Darn not having inside thoughts.

Well….we just needed to move on. Bjourn said, “It’s insane the Council didn’t come to me first. Considering if I don’t agree to allow the paperwork to go through then it was a foolish errand for the Supernatural Council in the first place.”

I said, “In their minds, it wasn’t. It wouldn’t have worked because they don’t understand you guys. These moles in the packs aren’t related to anyone in the pack leadership. Eric would not have listened to Patricia or fallen for anything she did.”

“Patricia must not have realized, or acknowledged to anyone, that Haley didn’t like her. My mother in law would’ve been… really… upset… if Eric said he signed something Patricia put in front of him… let alone if he didn’t read it.”

“Which for the record…I do know that he’d never do that. Plus, everyone would’ve found that suspicious. I barely knew Patricia, and I know she wouldn’t lower herself to what she considers a menial task of delivering papers.”
