Freya teased, “They know.” Maybe. I added out loud, “Plus Corbin, because I’m sure he wants to see Blaise, and you were going to tell him to come anyway so… he might as well be on the list… when you think about it…and uhh Aaron…because he totally got called about Tensley….umm Ashlyn too…all their kids…so this was…something…I’ll just be…out there.” They were giving me looks I didn’t like.
Blaise cut in, “Thanks by the way, for saving our lives.” Tenley chuckled, “Yeah, thanks!’ I told her, “You’re welcome. Speaking of, later, I’ll need your phone. I need to see how the bad guys are piggybacking on Cassie’s phone to send a text that looks like it’s from her. If I can nail that down, we have an edge. I know some of their coding.”
Titus said, “I’m sure we could have some people assist you. It would be faster.” He meant Prince Gunner and then I might die… from excitement. Freya complimented me, “Good job on having an inside thought.” Look at me and my progress.
I nodded, “That’s true… it would… so long as people don’t ask us too many questions… it’s easier to hack when it’s silent. If someone is asking you a bunch of questions, then it gets really complicated and… you look bored with my explanation… ok…I’m going to stop.”
“I’m just going to go on the balcony… not leaving or jumping off said balcony for the record… I’ll be staying on the balcony… I just need to talk to someone first… before… everyone…” Blaise interrupted, “Wow. You nervously ramble better than anyone I know.”
I muttered, “Probably… the odds are high… but I’m not the only person who talk through nerves… or silence.” Blaise chuckled, “It’s not bad. I’m just taken aback because you’re like this serious bad ass bitch who kicks ass, but you’re just like a normal person when nervous. It’s fascinating. Who do you want to talk to first? I’m hoping not Corbin because I don’t think he’s going to let me leave his side after this.”
Marcus answered, “She wants to talk to Alexander.” My eyes widened and Freya cackled. Blaise said, “So, you know who she is. That’s impressive. I mean, Corbin did tell me you guys know things. Did you know they knew who you were, cool chick in black?”
I frowned, “They have a guess… they don't know for certain who I am. I’d say they are maybe like ninety nine point nine percent certain at this point… but technically until I take my mask off; they don’t actually know for sure.”
Freya said, “Denial is a river.” No, what I said was a fact. They could be guessing I was me, but until they saw it… technically I was right. Blaise laughed, “I do like you. Let’s be friends.” I agreed, “Sure. I’ll be around and I’m fairly certain you’ll be moving here because I’m pretty sure you’re right about Corbin.”
“Ok…maybe I know you’re right…but let’s not talk about why. You’ll probably be in Black Mountain some too because Haley is going to want to train you… you’re a partial Fairy. So… yeah… the balcony…. me going there…. uhh bye.” Marcus watched me go.
I sighed and muttered under my breath, “I mean it’s not like I’m leaving. It would be complicated to get out of this realm. I’d have to run around hiding waiting for a portal to open; jump through and try to outrun them… which I could do… but Hackura are stealthy…. it just sounds so complicated. I came here to their realm. Doesn't that tell people things? Like I’m not trying to leave since I can’t open a portal.”
I heard Titus snort in reply to my rant. I knew he could hear me muttering, but I figured he wouldn’t have listened since Blaise and Tenley were back… I thought they’d talk. So, that was my bad… but also, I was nervous… so this was all fair.
I began to wring my hands the second I got onto the balcony. I was doing this. I was telling Xander about being in the Resistance. Gosh, this was a bad idea. Freya disagreed, “It’s a good idea and it came up naturally, just like you wanted.” That was true. This was my plan. Gosh. Why was this so nerve wracking? I heard the moment Xander entered the realm because he was not quiet.
My mate popped out to me. What surprised me was there was another presence out here with us, all of a sudden. I looked around, but whoever it was… they were staying faded back in the background. I nearly smirked because that was interesting.
I knew it wouldn’t be Titus or Marcus… they would have already been out here. It could be one of Xander’s Guard… but there was someone else who was a SCHEDULE CHANGER that it could be. Freya snorted, “You’ll have to let that go since Hastein didn’t know you were trying to help him.” Letting things go was not really my forte.
Before I lost my nerve, I took off my mask. Freya snickered, “I’d have taken control and taken it off if you needed me to.” Oddly, I appreciated that. Xander wasn’t even surprised at all. Ok then… that meant they all knew this entire time and were waiting for me to tell them.
Freya snickered, “You told a Hackura Prince and the former King they weren’t certain who you were.” I frowned, “Even if they did know I was in the Resistance, that's true. Plenty of women share my body type. They were correctly assuming I was me.” Freya kept snickering.
Cayden yelled for us to come inside. Maybe Micah was the one out here. When we walked inside, I spotted Micah with Max.So, who was it? Because I’d be smug if it was who I thought it was. Freya said, “I just know they were there, and I also know how smug you’ll be about who it is if you’re right.” I was going to have to look behind me. Surely… whoever it was would fade in eventually.
Cayden and Micah had long suspected I was in the Resistance. They’d been trying to prove it for years. Cassie figured out I’d saved her. Freya told me, “Rain is very grateful that you protected them. They love us as a sister.” I was totally fine and not going to cry about that at all.
I needed Cassie to repeat that to my friends who thought I was bat crap crazy saying it was her… because it WAS her. I was right and they were so very wrong. Honestly, if we were going to list the number of times I’d saved them all… we’d be here for a long time.
I asked Freya, “Did you break through to tell me to stay that day I saved Cassie?” Freya answered, “Yes, I did. Sadly, I couldn’t hold on long enough to explain.” I thought my heart had just wanted to stay because logically… I knew Xander was coming because Cassie had been hurt.
Everyone else was called in. This was officially not fun. Freya said, “You’re going to have mate pop us out, aren’t you?” The plan was easily shoring up in my mind. Everyone looked mad… except the Hackura… and they’d wanted to know if I was in it the longest.
Blaise being a royal Fire Fairy was news that was kind of funny. Freya chuckled, “Melanie.” I replied, “Come on… Blaise the Fire Fairy. I wonder if her mother knew… and that’s why she named her Blaise.” Prince Lochtan turned out to be her dad via sperm donation.
Everyone seemed confused as to why he would do that when it seemed fairly logical to me. Lochtan was on the run and they’ddone something with his powers. Maybe he wasn’t at his full capabilities, or they were tracking his magic.
All that meant Lochtan needed money. Donating sperm… was easy money. From what I knew, Lochtan was a lawyer. He was tall, attractive, and had a good job. I’m sure he was a popular donor. He probably donated a lot for easy money.
Freya linked, “The Fairy Prince could have had a different reason.” I asked, “What other reason could he have had? It’s not like he could get a regular steady job. He had to keep moving around and would’ve had multiple aliases. He’s probably in sperm banks all over the country.” Freya chuckled in my head. I don’t know why it was funny when I was fairly certain I was right.
My attention was brought to Gabe when he asked about Kingsley. Did he really think I’d let her blow up? I mean… she could survive a bomb, and fire, even if I had left her there… which I would not. Kingsley would just have walked right out, perfectly fine.
Well, the purple parts of her hair would’ve turned to fire… but it goes right back to normal when Kayda, her Dragon, calms down. I did need to sync with her and Gabe asking was going to segue into me getting out of here. Freya chuckled.
Xander wanted to come. I knew Kingsley would probably say that was fine since she wanted to meet him. Gabe pressed the issue to my surprise. That seemed odd. He wasn’t even looking at me asking the question either. I was going to be right.
Tristan linked, “What is that look on your face?” I replied, “I enjoy being right.” My older brother replied, “I know that. What does his question have to do with you being right?” I turned to look at what Gabe was staring at. I smiled at who it was…it was probably a smug smile too.
